I doubt they'll leave Ricardo - the US and UK last week were applying intense political pressure on the Iraqi "government" to sign oil rights from untapped properties over to the UK/US in deals that would last at least 3 decades.
They'll do anything to thwart oil thirsty China in this region.
Once they are pulled out of Iraq the next step should be for Bush & Blair to appear before the International Court at The Hague on charges of war crimes....

I refer to my comment about Mr. Blair withdrawing the troops and I felt happy. But I feel sad that the NATO or the generals are requesting 2200 troops plus amo+food+cash+all sorts of armaments (including silencers) as per the very fresh braking news on 7th March 2007
They don't need legislation to bring them out; they are there illegally in the first place.

Good old American 'democracy' at work again. Democrats propose date for withdrawal. Democrats have the majority of the House. 'Liberal' Democrats say this is too far away in the future. 'Liberal' Democrats vote against legislation. Legislation isn't passed. End result: No new legislation. No withdrawal from Iraq. Money men get their way. All in the name of 'Democracy'.

The Establishment figures if you give Americans an end date, then they will go back to sleep....since the printing press at the FED and deficit spending is paying the cost of the war there is no real cost to them and, despite all of the yellow ribbons, plastic flags, gooey patriotic sentiment and protestations of concern over our fallen and wounded heros... American Idol, basketball's "March Madness" and Britney's bald noggin' are their chief cares in the world.
Lest we forget, the Demon-rats and the GOP-- the Grand Old Pederasts--both overwhelmingly supported the war and passed the expenditures for the permanent bases in Iraq...Congress's great protest--their vote against funding permanent bases--merely led to a change in the name of these establishments--they are now "enduring camps."
