Translation.......were not happy people are educating themselves to how the real world works....and all the satanic sun worshipping pish that the Scottish Office seems to be fans of....and by the way are truly wrong :)
It struck me as useful to show you some of the pro...enlightened stuff they believe in .....that your not supposed to know about :) http://video.google.co.uk/videosearch?q=Legend+of+Atlantis
How about getting them to read articles like this one? That'll break them of the computer habit. This piece smacks of self-promotion.I think my prefrontal cortice says that pulling the plug would solve a lot of problems.
To wean kids off PCs send them to do a course at Glasgow Caledonian University.
Even the computing degrees are often unable to provide them - so your sprogs will get a computing degree without ever needing to use one!
AGREE limits - negotiate 45 to 60 minutes on a school night? NEGOTIATE?? Are you daft!
AVOID displaying anti-computer fascism. WHAT??
I don't think I'll be buying her book.
Simple solution - don't buy the things in the first place. And by-the-way, they are NOT computers. They have no other function than to play games.
Since this article is just an advert for this woman's books did you pay her or did she pay you?
lazy journalism eh? Get a writer to submit a piece to an editor on a quiet news day and get a great piece of free advertising.
I thought the Scotsman would know better unless they got paid well for it but surely you have to say its an advertising piece.
I am a bit of hypocrite cos I use this technique in trade magazines etc for my own line of work but that was pretty blatant.
I'm afraid I stopped at "As I explain in my next book". Hope she didn't say anything useful after that.
This is just blatant advertising for a book! Is Nicola Morgan a Scotsman Journo??? If she is, then that's even worse!
Do they stick this kind of nonsense in to justify the price we pay for the newspapers??
It's a magazine piece ...... the kind I don't buy!
Totally agree with No 5, while there will be plenty of pleading and 'my friends all have one', it is the simplest solution.
It also gives you the opportunity to spend more time with your children. Not always easy, but in time you learn to explore and play new games with them and it's better for family relationships all round.
Now that you have spilt out everything how about the brain scanning by a pc and how dreams effect our thinking, the mind conscious and unconscious mind, the sanity sanity snaity snaity sn
What's wrong with computers - they could set Scotland free.

#16 Agreed with #17. Nothing wrong with computers. I have a computer AND I play games on it. But I do use it for other things too. The problem is with Game Boxes with only one function, to play games.
What do you mean they can set Scotland free?? They aren't exactly new to Scotland. I was working in the computer industry in Scotland in 1970. Wasn't one of the first electronic computers developed at Ferranti??
I see the author is about to publish a book called "Grow your Brain"
Mine is an exact fit for my skull. If it grows, which orifice will it come out of?
As for the weaning, there is a switch on the wall with a position marked "on/off". Use the forefinger to move the switch gently to the off position.
Hey presto. Instant weaning.
#5--Way to go! You are exactly right! For too long, parents have negotiated with their children instead of TELLING them what is allowed and what is not!
Does this include ScottWeb?
Nicola Morgan who's your friend/relative at the scotsman?
That's a great come-back, "Mine is an exact fit for my skull. If it grows, which orifice will it come out of?"
Thanks for the laugh.
