My mother tells the tale of just having given birth to my brother and I and the nurse presenting us to her to be nursed. "Oh no dear," my mother told her, "I haven't had that operation." Ho-ho, no wonder I turned out the way I did.
Obviously! Obviously! Obviously, and why the need for research when the evidence is scattered around us like confetti? Those who don't have eyes; let them see!
This has been known for a long time.
They will soon 'discover' that it is better for the child and the mother if the mother stays at home in the early years to bring up the child.
Who are 'they' I wonder?
Of course this was known - apart from it wasn't.The new evidence is the degree to which breastfeeding aids the MOTHER. However all the experts here knew that....
waiting on the milk formula company backlash....although they don`t have a hard fight as most new mothers these days thanks to mindless celebs think their breasts are for enlarging and exposing...breastfeeding thats unnatural!
#2,3,4,5 - at least they didn't claim the story as an exclusive.

Not being a mother, nor ever being likely to be one short of a miracle, I cannot claim to be an expert.
However, I have always believed that a mother makes a quicker and fuller recovery from childbirth if she breastfeeds.
I suspect that the truth has been concealed, to make profits for formula manufacturers, and not upset mothers who can't or won't breastfeed.
Any doctors or midwives etc here who can elaborate?
One of the interesting facts arising out of the comments on this article is that Scullion is a twin.
Does he/she comment here as well?
Duh!
