Saddam would not be allowed to go into exile, as he was the excuse to invade Iraq.

What a fanciful idea!

No, the country had to be invaded, the oil and territory secured, and massive reconstruction projects awarded to the neocon gangsters.

Japan 27/09/2007 00:34:56

The deal-breaker was to stop Iraq selling its oil in euros.

Shoot, only a billion? Actually, the USA saved a million as getting Saddam out of the way was only the tip of the iceburg of plans for that region. No, it was really a money saving effort to just hang the man.

should have given him the billion, would have saved them a lot of money

Saved a lot of lives too possibly?

"...and all the information he wants about weapons of mass destruction"? What WMD's? The Iraqi dictator did not have any. The question is whether Mr Bush was simply misinformed, fantasizing or right out lying. Sorry, taking along all the information on "Iraqi WMD's" would probably have required the amputation of Dubyah's brain.

7

GD,

I've heard it all now 27/09/2007 08:10:44

Now the propaganda machine and the WMD theme is being used to put Iran next on the list.
We can only hope the public won't swallow it this time.

"Saved a lot of lives too possibly?"

Yes, millions already and millions to come.

The neocons who have hijacked the USA would not have had an excuse to invade and build a colonial fortress in the Middle East.

Cheaper to buy George Galloway.

Did that billion include Galloways percentage?

11

bill2,

The USA doesn't have a billion to spare, they can't even pay their UN subscriptions.

What a load of BS from bush . As if Saddam would ever had been allowed to stay alive. This is a dreadful, illegal war bush is waging, no lies from his
blundering mouth will ever change or disguise that fact. These animals even blocked iraq's attempts to sign WMD treaties banning their use . It is an evil war, were innocent iraqies
are being killed and injured on a horrific scale and a
country full of ancient wonders, the roots of civilisation has been systamatically reduced to rubble by the modern equivilant of Attila the Hun.
And the question still to be answered is why? especially when the CIA intelligence report commisioned by bush stated that Iraq posed NO THREAT to america either conventionally or via WMD.
Indeed they found no evidence to suggest there was even a WMD program. This however was not enough to stop monkey man going ahead with the
wide spread slaughter (Just under 1500 civillians killed by precision bombing inside an air-raid shelter
on the first day) and destruction of a once great country. He is nothing but a primitive savage.

"And the question still to be answered is why?"

I thought everybody knew that. To enable the neocons to control the oil and land, build bases for further invasions, and make money out of reconstruction.

bill2, please keep drumming up support for our site.

Our site is really boring, it's just about 5 or 6 of us all agreeing with one another about how we dislike Jews and have USA envy. That is why we all came back here and we are disrupting the threads here trying to get more people to join our site to make it wonderful like it is here.

The story from the former Spanish prime minister is difficult to believe. Everyone knew at the time that once a shooting war started sadaam's death was a requirement. Exile would only have resulted in his eventual return. The death of his sons was a bonus.

Bush is a liar - a proven liar - and a stupid liar at that.

Baby Bush is so stupid that he expects the world to believe his tissue of falsehoods.

I hope you Americans who voted for him TWICE are satisfied that you now have in office the STUPIDEST PRESIDENT EVER!

Farzad,

Iran 27/09/2007 17:10:11

This story shows that in American logic countries can be invaded without a mandate from UN security council .WMD in Iraq and Saddam link to Alqade in 9/11 attacks were great folks to justify an illegal war . I wonder why Americans are so naïve to believe lairs . this illegal war was only for oil .

Was President Bush of sound mind or was he after Saddam personally. So many questions, too much secrecy. Should President Bush have accepted Saddam's offer to step down for $1bn and go to exile? ------> http://www.youpolls.com/details.asp?pid=600

It seems as though people forgot what type of dictator Saddam was. Why do we forget he would put people in wood chippers, feet first so they would live longer through it? Oh, is that a good leader? Didn't he try to kill all the Kurds in Iraq? What's that called again... genocide...-er something....
Oops, my bad, lets not talk about that. No No NO... Lets talk about how Bush is a bad person... How it was wrong to go to Iraq...
Who of you has been to Iraq? And talked to the citizens and asked them? Because I've heard different things out of Iraqi mouths... But no one is interested in that, right? My bad...

27

Sammy25,

27/09/2007 22:08:08

If true, this only goes to show that the invasion of Iraq was carried out because the US wished to invade and occupy Iraq ....

$1 billion is petty cash to the US

But of course it his had happened Haliburton may well have gone into bancruptcy ...
