I'm no really here,

So if these idiots ever got to power, they believe that Japanese, German, American, Italian, etc car makers are going to stop car production? I hope there aren't any sharp toys at this conference, they might hurt themselves.

Only a party that can never be elected can plan dates for technology that is currently not viable.

Why not abolish fat people by 2030, ugly women by 2035 and all illness, disease and pestilence by 2045.

But when you think about it, if everyone has computer access we don't need to go to voting booths (Estonia is already offering this option).

We can rid ourselves of self serving, expenses grabbing politicians, by just voting on policies ourselves, so can abolish politicians by say 2020 as its renowned for good vision?

18 out of the 29 councillors that tried to shut 22 schools and four community centres & gag parents during the debate on school closures were Fib Dems

Labour councillors actually consulted lawyers over an e-mail, allegedly authorised by education leader Councillor Marilyne MacLaren, advising parents who wanted to make a plea to councillors not to attend Thursday's crunch meeting.

I wasn't interested before but now I'm pretty sure the fib dems ain't gettin into power any time soon.

These Councillors will not be forgotten:

1) George Grubb, Liberal, Almond Ward george.grubb@edinburgh.gov.uk

What are Liberal cars going to run on? Rabbit faeces? Their plan for Britain is to tax anything that moves and use the loot to build a Giant Train Set.

Thet they're not even serious about stopping CO2 is evidenced by the fact that they can't bring themselves to endorse nuclear power.

Not that it matters. After the shambles they've made of running Edinburgh Council, we'll all be living on the Moon before they're in power in Scotland.

I think the Lib Dems are dead right on this one. We need to start taking tough decisions like this if we are to answer the challenge of climate change. I admire their resolve.

Clearly upsetting the usual whingers, so they must be hitting the mark.

6

Boy Wonder,

17/09/2007 14:03:51

I heard that the Libdems are taking an interest in hovercars, which are only just appearing in a very restricted market just now.

Honest ... it's true!!

Cynic,

Dalkeith 17/09/2007 14:24:33

The Lid Bems are heading for obscurity with such fruit and nut proposals. Don't they know that the weather system dumps others' carbon footprints on Britain. Oh, I get it, they will devise a big bubble that will cocoon Britain and shield it from the polluting gases from our nearest and dearest. Utter tripe. Who elected these morons?

8

Cynic,

Dalkeith 17/09/2007 14:26:25

Oh, and another things, will they create battery mountains. That shouldn't be too damaging to the environment.

I wonder which Ming will treasure most achieving that or his telegram from the Queen? On a more practical note, instead of Ming's hallucinations, perhaps most compression and spark ignition engines may be fuelled with something other than crude oil derivatives.

er - there won't be very many petrol and diesel cars to abolish by 2040.

Against crooked Councilors,

Edinburgh 17/09/2007 17:55:45

We will probably be wiped out by a giant meteorite by 2040.

13

is it me?,

Edinburgh 17/09/2007 18:49:25

All this political posturing about this little island being able to do anything to save the planet is a load of cr@p.

If all our emissions were reduced to zero tomorrow it wouldn't even register compared to the Far East, (China mainly). They're more interested in exports than emissions and the result is that British industry can't compete, because we're probably the most legislation- compliant country in the world .

Check where your most recently purchased electrical appliance came from.

14

Eve,

Watching Lib dems on the TV, I really need a job 17/09/2007 19:19:01

What are we going to do with all that oil that is reguarly pumped up and gathered in oil wells or deports (or what ever the offical name it has) after 2040?

Do the Lib Dems suport bio oil?

I'm no sure wither I support it cause it means we'll end up having feilds of GM crops and who knows who that would effect the enviroment. Messing about with nature to much appears to get us in a mess some time (us is the entrie human race & not just one pisific grouping, please note.).

15

GD,

I've heard it all now 17/09/2007 21:28:56

The Lib Dems don't have a clue what they'll be doing next week never mind in the year 2040.
They could've helped make a difference in Scotland by forming a coalition but they refused due to their belief that Scots shouldn't have the opportunity to vote on their own future.
That's how liberal and how democratic they really are. They don't deserve to carry the name.

This story is so absurd, #13 is right ,the uk has absolutely no effect on the planet apart from the gas thats emanating out of these jerks mouths. if you asked the average joe in the usa about a carbon foot print they would most likely think it was some kind of brand name for nike.. get real uk..
