I would like to see a human/grass clone. Not too bright but what a lovely head of hair.

Why do we need to create another animal-human hybrid - we already have Guga?

About bloody time, this research is essential.

I'm sick of the damned luddites declaring this will create all sorts of supposedly unethical abominations.

Which is nonsense.

The scientists involved will only be changing one or two genes. The likely hood this will create something like a minotaur are infinitesimal at best.

All these embryos will be destroyed within two weeks, even if they did go to full term, the changes are small unlikely to create a huge difference more than likely at worst it would cause erratic organ function or tumours or what not and the chimaera would die (so the 14 day rule is a good thing for these creations.)

Already in America, sheep embyro have been injected with human dna in the womb to create human organs within the creature.

They sheep look like sheep, act like sheep and do sheep things, except they have human livers.

Why people so scared and ignorant of one of the most powerful and heavily regulated sciences I'll never know.

I would hazard the fear and ignorance are linked.

Why was my completely innocuous comment at #3 removed??? I swear I'll never understand Hootsmon's comment removal policy. It IS a policy, isn't it???

This is an exciting time in human advancement and technology. In the next 20 years illness and disease will be a thing of the past. Children will not be born with complications, and the longevity cell will be increased so that people can live longer. It will be possible to increase human life to an average of 200 years, even more if we want.

Human clones will walk among us, as will holograms and other amazing technological wonders.

The human mind is capable of amazing things, and this technology is just the start of astonoshing things. How dare anyone accuse these doctors of playing god. To do that they must first define, and prove god exists, and then provide tangible evidence that suggests humans are NOT permitted to use their minds to their fullest potential.

People who are afraid of this technology are like the cavemen who didnt want to venture outside the cave. But we all know what the world would be like if man never left his cave. So this technology must be embraced and supported in all its forms. I am all for human cloning, lets go for it.

#11. Mean? Moi?? I'm NEVER mean, Nick ... well, not unless someone starts it!

All I said was ... does anyone remmember that TV prog from years ago MANIMAL, that Casualty's Simon McCorquindale was in? It was about a shapechanging human who turned into animals. Like Maya in Space: 1999.

Then I postulated a few hybrids. A wolf-man. A cat-woman. And finished asking if a hedgehog-dog-woman would be classified as a prickly b*tch!

Is this our future??

Now what's "mean" about that???
