The article makes good points. I am also becoming concerned by the increasing political nature of the police. This does not bode well for democracy.
Terrorism takes many forms, and it seems likely that the writer has never researched domestic terrorism, such as was used to conduct a horrendous and merciless campaign of terror against employees of research establishments that legitimately used animals for essential work on drugs for humans (not cosmetics, etc.).
Yet - partly because no relevant anti-terror legislation existed in the early phases of that campaign that could be used to deal with these domestic terrorists - the police were rtoundly criticised for failing to protect those same employees and their families!
Anti-terror laws are not just for international terrorism...
