Brian Lamb of C-Span was taken through, in the early '90's, the building that housed the Stasi goods...he was shown a room with jars of 'smells' of citizens..thousands of them used to identify anyone they objected to & were watching for many reasons, usually for speaking against the gov't(?).
so, i'm not surprised they were told to kill anyone wanting to escape....monsters all.....

To think that we have (or had) idiot politicians and trade union leaders in Scotland who supported this regime:

1) Salmond joined the marxist 79 Group the same year the Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan.
Now mates with commies like Red Ken Livingstone, Lyndsey German (StopTheWarCoalition), Kate Hudson (CND).

2) Ron Brown - Labour

3) Bill Wilson - SNP

4) George Gallwoway (Salmond's mate)- ex Labour who said the collapse of the Soviet Union was the biggest catastrophe of his life!

5) Jimmy Reid - SNP

No doubt we'll get the loony left SNP bloggers telling us that what is happening in Guatanamo Bay is 'just as bad'. BLAH, BLAH, BLAH!

Its worth noting that none of these Lefties can bring themselves to support our lads serving in the Black Watch as it goes against their so-called 'ethics'.

BTW
"Punitive Psychiatary" was used against those who spoke out against this regime.

Perfected under Krushnev and its now being revived under Putin.

#2 - exactlty right, my freind.

Funny how the big brave left always manages to duck and run when the truth comes out, or in any even remains remarkably colsed mouthed compared to when their ovberseas lefty darlings were in power doing their evil.

Or, more conceniently - though less convincingly, they will blame it all on 'Bush', or whoever happen to fit that position at the time .... never the letf's fault, never.

What always amazes me and has done since the 1960's and earlier is how Communism/Socialism (please don't tell me there's a difference) has always been acceptable and fascism not acceptable.

One is dictatorship by individual, the other is dictatorship by committee - New Labour under commissars Blair and Brown.

How have they got away with it? I'll tell you, through non-existent opposition in Westminster.

#7--Media 1----""although issued by the Stasi, the order would have come down from the rulers of Moscow's most hardline Satellite state""...with what is going on in Russia now, i would think it's very relevent.....link @ #2, for starters.......

""the state claimed throughout it's history that no such order had ever existed"".....

No 7 Media 1 Cape Town - Here is a good reason. Because history repeats itself under the Marxist ANC who are using "crime" as a pretext to hide the genocide they are committing against the White population in South Africa.Communism is about total control and if they have to destroy everything to achieve their goals so be it. Now think about South Africa and how every service has gone down the tubes, the number of Farmers and their Families who have been tortured and slaughtered, the home attacks with similar outcomes, the drunken lunacy of Mbeki and Beetroot who are responsible for the death of millions through their demialism on AIDS. Communism is a scourge on the face of humanity and we as a civilised race need to get rid of it and its satellites throughout the World.

#7. Media 1, Cape Town - "And we need to know this in 2007 about a country that no longer exists WHY?" - The perpetrators of these crimes are still at large in Germany today and remain, to a greater extent, unpunished. More disturbingly, the successor to the Communist SED in German post-Cold War politics, the PDS (now part of extreme left Die Linke) still has much support in the Eastern part of Germany and has held a certain amount of power (in coalition with the SPD).
East German crimes and criminals should be fully exposed in the way that Nazi crimes were post WW2, then maybe voters will be less inclined to vote for Marxist extremists with blood on their hands.

Blacks Back! 13/08/2007 19:34:55

It is only a few years ago that these orders were in force. Some of the people who
a) Ordered their underlings to carry out these crimes
and
b) some of the soldiers who carried out the crimes
are still alive.
These people should be brought to book for thier crimes and punished as the murderers they are.

come the revolution..... wall...shot. oh they did.

11. Sandy.
Do some research as it is quite interesting.
Google the term "Soft targets in Nicaragua".
The facts are quite enlightening as I have learned in the world stage there are no "good guys".

"The perpetrators of these crimes are still at large in Germany today and remain, to a greater extent"
Just like on the world stage the laws of the world (incidentaly that they too enforce) do not apply to the powerful.

"Marianne Birthler, who is in charge of the Stasi files that are still being scrutinised 15 years after the German Democratic Republic collapsed, said: "This instruction is so clear and precise, setting out the position of the authorities in a way we did not know before" - Access to these records is now strictly controlled under data protection legistation, however Germans can still request their own Stasi file if they so wish.
I have a friend in Berlin, who lived in the East of the city under Communist rule. After the fall of the Berlin wall he decided that he would obtain a copy of his service record from WW2 which was held in the Bundesarchiv in Berlin (in what was the Western Zone - Berlin-Lichterfelde). Out of curiosity, he also requested his DDR period file from the archive and discovered that a close friend and neighbour of nearly 40 years had been actually been keeping tabs on him for the Stasi and making regular reports. My friend limited his "retribution" to deletion from the Christmas card list but I am sure that many other "victims" of the "Socialist Paradise" would look for a little bit more by way of payback.
Whether in Berlin, Moscow or Glasgow - "Mir stinken die Linken".
