how will those who believe Pres. Bush & the Saudi Royals are connected at the hip deal w/this tibit of news???it's a long time coming & a little late... the Saudis & Iranians have injected their form of terror into Iraq for too long now...good one George!!!
#2--Dragonhead---off topic folks!!....great 4days of golf..loved the course & weather....tough one, eh??
article....""the Saudis see Iraq's Shia Prime Minister, Nouri Al-Maliki, as ""an agent of Iran,""i agree....
Is Condi bringing her ruler with her to slap their wrists before the Saudis continue with their business as usual?
#2. I think everyone rails against GWB because he is seen to be trying to tell everyone else how to live. He is quite right by not bowing his head to Islam. For me the problem is why all other westersn governments sit back and do nothing and allow muslims to run amock, especially in their own countries. Poor old G Dubya gets the sharp end of the stick.
Finally some plain information.
How can I put this more simpler: there are certain elements in the Bush administration and the CIA which love to foment wars, to cause chaos and bloodshed - it's good for business. It's how they superficially justify the war.
Don't forget, The Bush family and the Saudi family are old relations, and so is the CIA with the army and intelligence organisations of Saudi Arabia - a long history of weapons selling and training... Also the CIA has ties to mujahedin extremists in the Middle East since the 1950s when they used such groups to overthrow Mossadeqh in Iran.
These relations never grow old and never sever.
the #1 country causing chaos and terror in Iraq is the USA. They should get the **** out of there.
7. Dragomir
Well said. There is a powerful group of people that thrive and grow rich on war.
The last thing they want is peace, which is why they have put Blair in charge of it.
8. Van Dempsey
Thank you for your cool words of wisdom. It takes two to tango.
When did people start thinking of nation states being entirely uniform in opinion and action?
The US/'uk' Plc (elites) have always had a close working realtionship with the Saudis' elites. It just so happens that many of the normal people of that designed nation state are seeing the activities of western empire in the Arab and persian world as occupation and the know their elites are complicit.
What Condi is wanting to do is to force the saudi elites to suppress the will of the local people in the name of 'freedom and democracy'; to show "strong leadership", aka oppress.
For those who think that the Bush Klan are not connected with the Saud Klan.....what can I say? It's revisionist in the extreme to deny that.
10. Dick "puller" Cheney
Tell me, how many of the so-called 911 terrorists (FBI list) were afghanis and Iraqis? How many are still alive today?
"Tricle down"? Flood up, you mean.
Pull the other one.
"the trickle down effect."?
We in the UK have loyally helped you murder all the ragheads, but the only trickle we have had is unmentionable.
Thank you for that. These fora need more voices from the states to counter the prevailing neo-con, propagandist line.
http://www.nytimes.com/2007/07/28/washington/28weapons.ht...
The New York Times says that Bush is preparing a big weapon sales deal with Saudi Arabia.
Also, a book came out recently, I read a review of it in the New York Times. The book details that rich people from Saudi Arabia have given over 1 billion dollars to Bush family & Bush causes in the last 40 years. Remember how George W. Bush was a businessman? He owned an oil company, it never produced much, it went bankrupt, but somehow George W. made a lot of money on it? That company had a huge cash investment in it from a rich Saudi guy. His name was Bin Laden.
It's likely that the US story that they're angry at Saudi over Iraq issues is just propaganda. The people who created the war must blame the war on someone.
One thing that is not propaganda. The Iraqi leader Maliki hates General Patreaus and belies that Patraeus is undermining Iraq's future.

#12--Bill1,england---""there is a powerful group of people that thrive and grow rich on war""...........
perhaps your referring to Pres. carter?http://www.gather.com/viewarticle.jsp?articleId=281474976... http://alandershowitz.gather.com/
or...perhaps your referring to Pres. clinton??http://www.cnn.com/2005/POLITICS/10/10/freeh.clinton/
if in fact your referring to Pres. Bush, you would kindly post a 'legitimate' link to his personally receiving money from the Saudi Royals.....as did the 2-Presidents listed above.......
Wally & Bill, this link was found on another thread but suits you two too a tee.

#16--Vainamoinen---mornin'...these fora could use(at least)one other written voice of Finland...ya think?...or are you the only "Scot" residing there? and unlike you, i would welcome all, regardless of their political persuasion..would it not be great to see new posters from around the globe present their views on these stories that effect them? new posters with varied views? :-))
20. sandy
Yes, exactly the point I was making.
See, we do agree on the basics!
18. Sandy
I wasn't particularly referring to Presidents or politicians, more to big business, but thanks for the information on Carter and Clinton which I was not aware of.
1f you will look at 1. Wally above, you will see how Bush has taken money from his Saudi friend bin Laden.
Here's an interesting account of the relationship between the USA and Saudi Arabia:http://www.rastin.org/html/gss.pdf
#22--Bill1,england---neither of the 2/links indicate Pres. Bush has taken money from "bin laden"..and i will NOT rely on Wally's word alone for info..if he had a link to his accusation, he would then post it..rumor is one thing..fact's are not in Wally's playbook(most often)when posting about Pres. Bush...
thanks for the link...i'm not at all surprised:)

It's sad a homosexual Troll like you had to turn a good man's name into an offensive one.
25. In a minute
I'm not sure where you are getting the homosexual vibe from other than the way he is insulting the VP but you may be onto the Troll thing, "Dick Puller" does sound a lot like "Rainbird". Could it be Rainbird using multiple ID's again?
The U.S. has certainly caused chaos in Iraq..but they are not the only Country, doing so...Iran,Syria,is also doing their best to further destable the County, not 2 mention Bin Ladens Mob,a pox on all their houses!

how appropriate. The new US embassy in Baghdad which is to be the largest embassy of any country in the whole world is being built with slave labor.
From back in 2003 it was apparent. The US government is spending enormous sums of money in Iraq. They've confiscated the future social security checks of tens of millions of Americans and are squandering the money. They spend lavishly on no-bid contracts for Halliburton and for other well-connected contractors. This results in enormous profits & management fees. It also bypasses the local Iraqi contractors. It also bypasses the Iraqi labor. with layers of sub-contractors and in the end the work is done by very very low-wage foreigners.
The Iraqis have been enraged over this for years while they have over 50% unemployment. and no electricity in baghdad either except for a few hours every day. See this article below that originally came from Los Angeles Times.

Hardly likely. Look at this link to find the REAL reason for the invasion and occupation of Iraq:

Makes the oil look like peanuts!
The military-industrial complex is like a shark in the water - it must keep moving, or it dies.
And if you keep producing very expensive arms, you have to sell them.
Or create a market.
Cynics like Gee Dubya, or his poodle, living in their ivory towers, are oblivious to the cost in human terms.

The Bush family has for many years received many investments from Saudi Arabians that appear to be gifts. They've also received many out-right gifts.
The Saudi royal family would like desperately to stay in power. And purusant to that they're willing to do what is necessary. Members of the Saudi royal family have actually stated that it is very much under the influence of the CIA. Do you really think that the CIA would not or could not organize a coup and get rid of them if they wanted? Just as they made Saddam their puppet in Iraq, they could get a different puppet for Saudi if need be. and the Saudi royal family knows this well.
In 1980 Saudi Arabia was famous as being a wealthy nation. Back then they distributed a lot of oil wealth to the ordinary Saudis. The ordinary Saudis lived as well or even a little bit better than the ordinary Americans back in those days. Since then the oil revenues have not declined. But it is no longer distributed to the population as it was. The ordinary Saudis today live very modestly, their standard of income hasn't just declined, it's been decimated by comparison to 1980. It is only rational to think that the money now goes to the oil companies.
"US patience with Saudi Arabia wears thin"
What about the World's Patience with the USA?
Look where the USA's IMPATIENCE had got it.Look at the results of it's Pre-emptive Strikes.
The mighty USA is, as they say, 'Up S**T Creek without a Paddle'.
Now, that wouldn't be too bad, but, as a consequence, the whole world is now suffering from a plague of 'US Induced terrorism'.
33. scotsdoc
Absolutely right, but that's what Bush wanted.
Control of oil and land, reconstruction projects, massive arms sales, lots of money fo him and his gang. Not too shabby.
Pity about the deaths, and the total destruction of the USA's credibility as a super-power.
Scotsdoc in 33:
When Pres Bush was campaigning in 2000 for his job they had 1 big debate that focused strictly on foreign policy. A very large portion of the voters watched that debate. A questioner asked him how he would proceed in foreign policy. He said that his highest priority in foreign policy was to proceed with humility. He said that before doing anything he would always consult with many foreign allies. and that he would attention to them and take into account what they said always before acting. The Americans liked what they heard after President Clinton had bombed several nations and in particular wrestled Kosovo from Serbia. and as we can all see the President lied massively in that answer.
The president is very unpopular. The washington post ran an article a few days ago documenting that since 1938 no president has been this unpopular except Nixon just before he left office.
The nature of the situation in America is that we don't have control over this government. We wish we did.
#33--scotsdoc---"what about the world's patience with the USA?"
don't much care!!!
"now, that wouldn't be too bad, but, as a consequence, the whole world is now suffering from a plague of US 'Induced terrorism'".....
perhaps the canadians could keep their 'appeaser, canadian induced terrorists' on their side of the border...stop sending them this way......
The Americans have had some success in brinig peace to some areas Kosovo ,Northern Ireland etc..the Europeans input was of no consequence whatsso ever! and would not have happened left to the Europeans, Ive no idea as to Mr Bush`s oil connections are here perhaps one of you anti american could enlighten me? if not can anyone explain why the US was/are involved in these areas other than attempt to bring peace to it ?
This is very offensive

Surely you jest.
The United States will never abandon Israel – it’s chiseled in titanium!
#46 DjookersI know all that but did you get that info I've asked you three times now? And not to be hypercritical but it should be “Golden Shower”
44. bill1 said "They are the problem, along with Saudi Arabia."
Pull your head out of the sand! Obviously, you have so much hatred for Israeli, your anti-Israel posts are showing in almost all of your posts. How foolish to blame everything on Israel alone when your own terrorist Palestinians are also at fault for the cause of tension, craving for power and the real perpetrators in the game? Get a life! The obstacle to peace is your Iranian-Syrian friends who are making use of Hamas and Hizbollah to create trouble and problems in Israel. Their main aim is to drive the Jews to the sea and wipe off Israel! That is what they are interested in rather than peace. Period.
