"Consider the alternatives ... suppose we did nothing?"

Approximately 1,000,000 (one MILLION) Iraqi's might still be alive.

Anyone doubting the extent of Blair's crimes should have a look at the Lancet study - http://www.democracynow.org/article.pl?sid=06/10/12/145222

It makes me so surprised that Labour in Scotland still enjoy such large support. Does it mean we don't know the scale of Blair's crimes or that we don't care?

Once a war criminal, always a war criminal. When will they get around to prosecuting him?

Well, Tony popped in for a couple of bevvies last night before scooting off to some State dinner - but he was telling me that he was really appreciative of the support from AM2 and KY (the jelly man) during the Scottish elections but that he was a bit disappointed in guys like Guga and others that just don't seem to understand him......

#3 Eastside Disappointed to see you trotting out those same old tired stats. 1 million refers to some mythical guesstimate of "avoidable deaths" i.e. Deaths that might not have happened if things had been "nicer"

A more accurate number is violent deaths. Under Saddam there were more than 1 million VIOLENT deaths

So, if we "did nothing" there would be far more violent deaths than there are today.

Incidentally, there are many countries including Zimbabwe and Uganda where the CURRENT violent death rate far exceeds that of Iraq.

Oh well I'm the type of guy who will never settle down
Where illegal wars are, well you know that I'm around
I bomb 'em and I leave 'em 'cause to me they're all the same
I freeze 'em and I squeeze 'em, and yes they know my name
They call me the wanderer - yeah - the wanderer
I roam around around around around

Oh well there's Dougie on my left arm and there's Wendy on my right
And Cherie is the girl well that I'll be with tonight
And when she asks me which one I love the best
I tear open my shirt and show her Dubya on my chest
'Cause I'm a wanderer - yeah - a wanderer
I roam around around around around

Oh well I roam from town to town
I go through life without a care
And I'm as happy as a clown
With my two fists of iron, but I'm going nowhere

Oh, I'm the type of guy that likes to roam around
I'm never in one place, I roam from town to town
And when I find myself callin' for another war
Yeah, I hop right into that plane of mine, I jet around the world
Yeah I'm a wanderer, yeah a wanderer
I roam around around around around
Lettin' go

Oh yeah, I'm the type of guy that likes to roam around
I'm never in one place, I roam from town to town
And when I find myself a-callin' for a war to go and fight
I hop right into George's arms cos like me he's to the right
'Cause I'm a wanderer, yeah a wanderer
I roam around around around around around around
'Cause I'm a wanderer, yeah a wanderer
I roam around around around around around around around
'Cause I'm a wanderer ... and next is Canada-ada-ada ....

With FEW changes, it fits, doesn't it? I'd like to think the late bard Scaramouche would have written something similar .... but better!

Guga II,

#9 Well done. Even Scaramouche would have applauded that one.

"consider the alternative"!!!!

Well...lets see...Ok, a nutter called Saddam would still be running Iraq, but not forever.......

650,000 innocent civilians would still be alive......

a civil war would not be taking place.......

coalition troops would not be being slaughtered everyday.....

Al Queda would not be in Iraq........

The UK wouldn't be the second most hated country in the world and all that brings.......

14

Billy,

Germany 01/06/2007 11:52:06

A horrible, useless criminal. Why the hell has he not taken his moral crusade to the SUDAN or the Westbank or ZImbabwe ?. The worst prime-minister of all time. We can only hope that his crimes (And there are many), one day catch up with him ,and he is thrown in jail where he belongs.

15

Choosername,

It seems to me that Blair, as was Major before him -and as Brown will be after, is a placeman for the UK's arms industry (BAE) and nothing more. His 'farewell tour' (God help us) is a final sales drive to all the outposts of the US empire in order to assure them of Britain's continued attention as a purveyor of some of the world's most efficient killing apparatus, not to mention supplier of 'security contractors' (ie mercenaries trained at HMG's expense) to the highest bidder. May he die attempting to pull his own eyeballs out. In flames.

Come on over, Tony. We know what vicious ingrates the Brits are; just look at the thanks they gave Churchill. And the rest of Europe is also just dying to bend over forward for the Muslims. Don't waste your breath on them; they are a lost cause.

Why is he silent about the plight of the Palestinians who are being massacred by the Israeli army? The BBC 2parts programme about the six days war reveals the duplicity of USA & Britain in that aggressive war initiated by Israel.
Thank God we are seeing the back of the twerp soon.

"We should be prepared to intervene, if necessary militarily, to prevent genocide, oppression, the deep injustice too often inflicted on the vulnerable."

Zimbabwe? Sudan?.....etc Good job Tony!
