The Iranian armed Badr Organization commando units never left Iraq.
Iran supplying weapons and money to al Queda in Iraq is not news to the American soldier killed by them. This was confirmed six months ago.Why is it suddenly news in the UK?This is WWIII, and the American soldier is at war with al Queda and Iran. If you do not believe it, you are in denial.
Sweetmike, Dragondick,
If you dont want Iraqis, Afghans and Iranians shooting at your troops.... let me suggest you get the f**k out of THEIR neighbourhood.
Go home !!!
Stop invading other countries !!!
Or at least stop whining when the people of the countries you attack fight back and defend themselves.
Do you really think the whole world will just roll over for Bush and his neocon rabble ???
#2 and 3You two make Hitler and Goebbels look like a rank amateurs.Fade to Dubya and Cheney in 2003:Let's see, we'll invade this country for no good reason other than oil and to get rid of a despot we no longer like but supported for years (well, we'll humiliate one of our own by telling lies in front of the U.N. for show), gut it with our own incompetence and then call the people who fight back (or whoever helps them) terrorists-even though it's their country! Brilliant. Anyone who does not fall for this outrageous lie, we'll simply label as cringing appeasers. Perfect. There will always be a couple of crackpots who'll support us. America and Britain, get out now.
Evidently neocon is the preferred word when the undereducated 'think' they're throwing an insult. It is no insult.Get an American dictionery and use it. Bush is not a neocon.Reagon, if he were alive, would be a neocon;who would not tolerate Iran building a nuke with the grace of France, Germany and Russia.
Bush isn't a neocon...
But how about Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Richard Perle, Paul Wolfowitz, John Bolton, Doug Feith, Scooter Libby etc etc...
#5 we Americans are d@mn tired of listening to your dribbling constant whining. Has the Iraq war upset your selfish need for eternally cheap gas? Or perhaps you're from one of the countries who profts from the weapons you sell Iran?
Despite your spineless and cowardly whining and hatred for us, we are the same Americans, who, when you're in trouble and need help, we will be there to pick you up and get you on your feet again: we're stubborn about stuff like freedom and democracy for everyone.
cjammenheuser
you are full of sh*t.
We aint whining.... we are telling you we dont buy your BS.
America uses military force to advance your selfish interests. IRAQ = OIL = $$$$ for Haliburton etc etc.
We aint spineless.... we just dont accept your propaganda regarding Iran, Iraq etc.
You ever been to Iran??? Do you have a clue.???
Or you just listen zombie like to your "leader" and shout "YEAH...YEAH... lock'n'load...lets get those Gooks...Ragheads...Islamascum...USA!!! USA!!! USA!!!
Thats what it looks like to most of the World.
Now go take your Prozac...
#5-Eric-"Do you really think the whole world will just roll over for Bush and his neocon rabble ???"Of course not, but it does seem like you will bend over for the radicals. I guess thats easier than fighting them. Any clue whats going on beyond iraq & afghanistan?
"Military sources suggested yesterday that Taleban fighters in Afghanistan are now using Iranian-made surface-to-air missiles to target British helicopters operating in the country."
Maybe this is because they have run out of their American supplied ones, having used most of them to shoot down Russian helicopters.
A sometime contributer to this column by the name of Faramars hails from Iran but is silent on this issue. Iran is a crackpot religous state trying to re-assert themselves as an empire which existed long ago and by people of a completely different breed to whom live there now. It is now populated by arab, quasi arab mongoloid mixtures. By the same token these unstable religous nuts are in fact trying to destroy us and they would not waste one second deciding who was on their side and who wasn't if they ever got powerful enough to properly confront us. so all of you apologists for them, understand this you ahve the right in our country to say what you like but if the countries you sympathise for ever got their way you wouldn't be seen again
Iran is supporting Taliban in Afghanistan against UK troops !!!!!!! Who can believe this story while Talibans are thirsty for Iranian blood . they want to kill and behead us to go to paradise . By the way during Iran Iraq war we were bombed and gassed by weapons and chemicals made in US and UK factories . Why there is nobody to be asked about these real facts ?
She (Margaret Beckett) said: "The best way to have an effect is through the combined pressure of the international community. Our strength comes from consensus so we must work through the UN and EU, as we have done each time Iran has failed to comply with the international community." Why madam? for committing what crime ? please tell us the cases in which Iran has violated NPT . Every conflict and difference in the modern world shall be resolved through a legal basis. We all are living in 21 century not in barbaric era. Prove Iran’s guilt then bomb and kill us or call for complete sanctions against Iran . Why your country shall renew its nukes but Iran shall be sanctioned for obeying law and signing NPT ? What do justice and equal treatment mean in your literature? why you have closed your eyes to see Israel ,India and Pakistans and … with nuclear weapons and not signing NPT ?
13. Black & White Triumph,i started typing my comments before reading your comment # 13 . when i opened the page there were only 11 comments .
13. Black & White Triumph,Hi You wrote :By the same token these unstable religious nuts are in fact trying to destroy us” I don’t believe so . please be fair . we Iranians have not threaten to attack or bomb you but please see your media for titles like “ attack on Iran ,bombing Iran , sanctions against Iran , consensus against Iran ,pressure against Iran and ….. …are we trying to destroy you or you are trying to destroy us ? I have to go to work. surely I will read your response. Regards
I would urge you all to read the article again.
Not one single reference, no quotes other than someone called Cameron and a stream of random 'data' without evidence.
The Hootsman churning out the mis-information so the masses remember who we should be hating.
Remember the pictures the embarrassed officials gave out as proof of Iranian weapons being used? Two months ago? Total farce: the device's marking linked it to a 'new' europe country. In other words: a lie.
That said, two points should be noted:
1. The USA/'uk' terrorists are in Saudi, Kuwait and Iraq. THe US terrorists heavily supported Saddam's war with Iran. The USA terrorists blew an Iranian civilian plane out of the air when the Iranians got close to the Iraqi border. THe 'western' mainstream media is constantly feeding anti-iranian reports to the masses. etc etc etc------I would be irrational for the Iranians not to fund counter-measures.
2. The irony is superb, really awe inspiring! Shock horror! Some iranian weapons are being used in that area of the world. So, that is a bad thing, right? No mention of nuclear capable aircraft carriers, 200 000 troops, f-18s, tanks, etc etc being used there by the 'west'! One rule for 'us' and another for the ROTW,natch.
3. Isn't it amazing that the US/'uk' elites complain bitterly when folk fight back?! 'We' starve them, bomb them, invade them, steal from them and our elites encourage us to support those activities but to condemn any retaliation! It's like the Romans complaining about the Picts' acts of 'terrorism' in Scotland.
#13-B&W- I dont know why, but I have my doubts that faramars is from iran.
Looks like the rabid manic paranoid hate-Bush/Blair/UK/US/Israel/CIA/Jews crowd is all fired-up today ...... pile it on chaps; I could use a good laugh. You all are SOOO cute when you're angry ;o
Ah Faram-arse, you never fail to make me laugh with your comments. They are as half baked as Sweetmikes and as nonsensical as Dr Friziolas.
Keep it up!
Put aside the what you think of the Iraq/ Afghanistan war for a wee minute, Now take a look and think about Iran for a minute or so. Them boys in power in Iran are not a nice bunch of guys. They seem to take great pleasure in stirring up the s***. It's like they don't like being out of the limelight and if nobody notices them for a wee while they do or say something to stir the crap and hey presto back on the world stage and more controversy. They are just loving this war in Iraq, lets them stir up all sorts of crap and people are believing it. These are not nice people, they hold a conference denying the holocaust, they say they won't be happy until Israel is wiped off the face of the earth and I'm sorry but I don't care what anyone thinks of Israel, wiping a whole nation out because you don't like them smacks a wee bit of evil to me. And c'mon take a look at their yon president, what's his name, Ahminmajammies, would you buy a used car from this man?
22. Jim A
"These are not nice people"
ALL Iranians are not nice?
How many countries has Iran invaded compared with US/'uk'? Are the USA/'uk' elites 'not nice guys' too?
"they hold a conference denying the holocaust"
Did "they"? ---no "they" didn't.
"they say they won't be happy until Israel is wiped off the face of the earth "
Did "they"? -- no" they" didn't.
Now ask yourself why you thought the above was correct. Why is your elites trying to paint that picture for you? What else has the western media stated that is fabricated/twisted in order to influence your thoughts?
It's all propaganda; from all 'sides'.
Used car salemen: I wouldn't buy a car from any 'leader' far less vote for the bu*'gers! These 'leaders' can only lead if we follow. "We" being ALL the normal everyday people of the world that just want to get on with life without oppression.
RE: Num. 18...
I remember that one..that commercial airliner had been stuffed with corpses and sent directly towards the battleship..it is thought the pilots 'chuted out after the autopilot was set up..but hey, who knows??we can all see now they don't care if they die for their cause...Really, this war has been going on since the ayatolla in iran, it just has some pauses in events...
The Americans have lots of good weapons but crap soldiers, although they are pretty good at zapping civilians.Sadly though they are losing badly in Iraq and are starting to blame the Iranians for their inability to defeat the insurgents.Pathetic go home yanks.
24. marty, US
What a complete load of tosh. It was a civilian plane with real people, including 66 kids, and was no threat to anyone. The Captain of the US Vincennes that shot the plane down (U.S. Navy Capt. Will C. Rogers III) admitted it.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/inatl/longterm/fligh...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iran_Air_Flight_655
Talk about re-writing history!
It's correct Speaking at a seminar entitled “World without Zionism”, Ahmadinejad said that Israel was the product of an ideological war between the “Arrogant World Order” and the “Islamic rule”, adding that the Jewish state had to be wiped off the face of the earth. http://www.iranfocus.com/modules/news/article.php?storyid...andhttp://english.aljazeera.net/NR/exeres/11372A84-1E7B-400C...
you then said "These are not nice people"ALL Iranians are not nice?
read my post again I said Them boys in power in Iran are not a nice bunch of guys. " These are not nice people" means the above, not all Iranians, if I meant that I'd have said that so don't twist my words.
Yes another nonsensical article.
The taliban regime has been despised in Iran for decades, in fact there have been many terrorist attacks in Iran coming from those same mujahedins. The idea that they are supported by the Iranian military is ridiculous. The best allies of the talibans have been Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and USA, never Iran. In fact 25 years ago USA was giving the mujahedins of Afghanistan hand held STINGER missiles (surface-to-air) and teaching them how to use them against the Soviet air force. Something smells fishy.
Propaganda to soften us up for a US led assault on Iran. We are bogged down in Iraq and Afghanistan and it seems that there are concerted efforts being made to open up a third front. Why - its a no-brainer the Iranian oil fields!!!
It is safe to say that within the next 15 to 20 years most of us will have perished in a nuclear attack.
It cannot be avoided. Israel is without doubt the single biggest perpetrator of violence followed closely by the America and ourselves. The Muslims? Well, they have been attacked on all fronts and ended up becomming radical terrorists.
But whose to blame and why wil count for nothing anyway. I cannot see how a nuclear holocaust can be avoided. It has to happen.
WW, it's you and idiot kids like you who are the no-brainers. British lives are being lost thanks to the mullah backed insurgents.
Iran and Iraq are overwhelmingly shiet , yet the violence is being mostly perpetrated by sunnis (Saddam's Tribe). Who exactly is helping these guys inside Iran ? It is most definetly not the regime.
Same with al-Quida, no way is there any connection between them and Iraq. Saddam refused them permission to operate there because he wanted Iraq to remain secular . They hated him for bringing the western maurauders into the region.
The American phylosophy seems to be an Arab is an Arab is an Arab. Similar to their vietnam mantra of "The only good vietnamise is a dead one.
They need to get their blood lust under control followed by one of their famous , undignified withdrawls.
27. Jim A
No he didn't say that "Israel should be wiped off the map...." He didn't say that. Say that, he did not. Not saying that is what he did. etc.......
he was a) quoting someone else and b) that someone else was talking about how threats to Iranian life come and go. Search further on this single point and you see that the quote was a bad translation which was then further manipulated and taken out of context. Ask why.
And a 'World without Zionism' is a) NOT the same as denying the holocausrt( as you originaly said). and b) That group in Iran are hardly the only folk on earth who see zionism as facist and a threat to peace.
the All Iranians bit: Sorry. Got up feeling grumpy. You are right on that issue. I was wrong.
All this uproar for supplying weapons. Lets take a look at the largest arms suppliers of the world, Oh thats the USA and UK.
Pot, kettle, black.
If Iran is not allowed to supply arms to rebels, then the USA should stop selling arms to rebels too.
19# American, USAWhy ? how can I prove that I am from iran and posting from iran ? 21 # I'm going for a beer“Reality hurts”. In Farsi we say : haqiqat talkh ast .22 # Jim APlease reread Finnking,s comment # 23 again . 24 # marty, USSorry for you and others who think like to believe these great lies . can you tell us about how japans organised to bomb Hiroshima and Nagasaki and attributed it to USA ? 28 # DragomirYou are right . please follow this link : http://commentisfree.guardian.co.uk/dilip_hiro/2007/05/br...
*3 Dragonheadtotally agree with your post at three.
Iran supplying weapons to extremists and terrorists? Hardly newsworthy. This has been going on for a long time. In the long run Saudi Arabia is going to cause the west a lot more problems than Iran will.
Finnking #35
Hiyas and good to have you back with us.
"No he didn't say that "Israel should be wiped off the map...." He didn't say that. Say that, he did not. Not saying that is what he did. etc......."
The alternative translation is that Israel should be erased from the pages of History. Just as bad.
Now to sweetmike and others. Your arrogant deriding of the UK is pathetic in the extreme. Comments regarding the iranian capure of british personnel are laughable in the extreme. At least when we do fight back we shoot the enemy not our allies!
The UK has been the best ally the US could hope for. Not all of us in the UK are blind to the threat we face.
#6 Scullion, Canada Absolutley CLUELESS!!The article is about Afghanistan, not IraqAfghanistan is where there also Canadian troopswho are part of a NATO force, which was asked to assist the democratically elected government of Afghanistan. The Taliban are a bunch of zealots, who believe women should know there place and should not have a life, which is why, when the Taliban ruled Afghanistan, schools were closed to women. It was the Taliban that harboured Bin LadenIran have been financing, supplying the Taliban as well as Hamas in Palistine and terrorist groups in Iraq as part of its pan middle east stratedgyIran want complete influence over all of the middle east, which is why we now have fighting back in the Lebanon
fight the invaders....... hmmmmmm?
ive just walked through the city centre...hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm???
43. Oliver F,
Hi, I've not been away but the winter is long here and when the spring comes I want to be active and outside. Fora activity is a winter sport!
His quote: The Imam used the modal 'will' and not 'should'. He was making tha point that all things 'negative' to Iran are transient. I just object to the rewrite of history when people quote (wrongly) that the Iranian president said that Israel "should be wiped off the map of history". I also urge folk to ask themselves why they believe that and also to ask what other 'historic truth' may be a fabrication. Don't get me wrong, there are ars*holes on all sides. I just with the masses would wake up to what is being done in their name. I think hey are, slowly.
In the US there is no dispute that Iran is supplying weapons to al-Queda and to alQueda in Iraq. It is a known fact. The Badr Organization is the armed militia of the Iranian government and alSadr was the Iraqi leader. He fled to Iran when Petraeus increased troops.
alHakim was the Leader of the Badr Organization. He defected from Iran, arrived in the US. Asgari is another Iranian defection spilling information, working through Mossad.
Military sources believe that Taleban fighters in Afghanistan are using Iranian-made surface-to-air missiles to target British helicopters operating in the country.Picture: AFP/Getty Images lET US CUT THIS INTO SMALL FREGMENTS AND SEE WHAT WE HAVE.TO TARGET BRITISH. WHAT ARE THEY DOING THERE. I mean British. Have they the visa. No. They went to fight. So they get from Taliban, Pakistan, Iraqi, Blaire,Bush, Pakistan, Iran, neneci Pelosy.Military sources believe. Produce evidence first sir... All the time because Bush does not like Iran, it is Iran no matter who stole the poridge. Iran. Who is building the Hitlers castles Iran. Who is breaking the Chinese Wall Iran. Who is drinking most water Iran. Who is diving the submarines Iran. Who is warming the Globe Iran. Where are the facts . IT IS BELIEVED. Sure my name is mulla but not MUlllahhsand I need the visa like anyone. They dont listen to me you think they will listen to you. same name Mulla.. Muallhas cousins. no idea
Bleeding Hearts,BTW. To call me a NEOCON is a compliment. Feel free to address me in this manner anythime you wish.
52. Reading Public, Reading Public/Pro USA
I don't understand your point. You say that:
"Iran is presently incapable of being a threat but we don't want them to grow or join China."
Then you go on to say:
" The ultimate answer to Iran is not sanctions but free trade."
What if they want to trade freely with China and Russia and Venezuala? That is free trade. Cuba?
# 53
When the US grows up and matures maybe it will get it into its thick head that IT was the catalyst behind what your excuse for a president calls "Islamofascism".
Your attitude to your British allies, who your military takes such delight in attacking on the battlefield, is reprehensible.
In the first Gulf war and this current one, more British soldiers have been killed by American weaponry than by the "Enemy".
The British public and an evident majority of the American public is now against this illegal war so your attacks on your British allies is also an attack on your own people.
Are you a member of the Ku Klux Klan? Your attitude seems to be influenced by people who are.
Also, how come your "President" was able to form such a big word as Islamofascism? He generally has trouble with anything over two syllables.
The Taliban have a way to go with Iranian weapons before they catch up to the USA in attacking British soldiers with their own.
60. Dragonhead, China
"Iranian ships in the harbour and Port here all the time, about 1000metres from where I am sitting now!!! One of China's 'best friends'!"
Good. It's called free trade. And sensible geopolitics!
As for the Blitz 'mentality' stuff: The British Isles were under attack, being bombed. Whole cities being bombed and many civilians being killed each night. The Germans were terrorising the people of the British Isles.
How can you (and others) compare that to an illegal invasion of a foreign country?
37. Halitosis, that really is a sad reflection on the country. I have to say I believe you because the UK never have placed a pound between their troops and their positive welfare. Over here the military is a good way for a poor kid to get a subsidized education and some sizable cash bonuses. Don't quote me but I think if a kid with no Uni education enlists he gets something $60,000 in bonuses. His education allowances are even more. It is not at all unusual to have millionaires in the national guard. Two of my partners are guard officers and have tours in both Iraq and Afghanistan.
# 64
How many of your partners are in the KKK?
#65 i dont agree wi the war but fook sakeget a grip
# 67
My comment in #65 is as rediculous as any of those made here by the tunnel visioned pseudo religious right neo-conservatives. You know who they are.
The UK and America have also been implicated in attacks on Iraq and Afghanistan. Not to mention Korea,Panama,Vietnam,Malaya..etc,etc.
The confirimation of Iranian weapons going to alQueda, and the confirmation of the Iranian military merging with alQueda to fight in Iraq are coming from defectors. For those who are interested in spies:
Ali-Reza Asgari, was the Iranian defense minister. It is known he did not get along with Ahmadinjad.
February, 2007: Asagari goes missing in Turkey March 8, 2007: There are reports he talked with Israel and with the US He obviously defected. Iran threatened retaliation against the Brits and the US.March 23, 2007: Iran snagged 15 British sailors. Iran then attempted a swap- which did not happen.
Here's an interesting link about Asgari defecting and spilling Iranian secrets:(It even has blogger's comments about the 15 British sailors)
Senior US Official Confirms Defecting Iranian General Asgari Cooperating with Western ... www.thewashingtonnote.com/archives/001991.php
#35 Finnking, whatever mate, my point is the government of Iran are not a nice bunch of people, they just thrive on stirring the s**t. Lets wait and see shall we.
These media stories are never backed by official accusations from Blair or Bush. Edinburgh Conspiracy Society has it that these reports in papers like Telegraph are attempts to make Iran admit supplying bombs to insurgents. Editors got so desperate that they now report Iran is giving stringer missiles to Talibans, its arch foes. News are getting funnier by the day. One rolls on the floor laughing on reading cons like Con Coughlin.
^^
....hope all the lads come back home healthy and save...
#74 Only a WomanI'll second that
Halitosis..all your wishes are coming true. This morning they found one of our young soldiers dead in the Euphrates River.. that should make your day.Everytime I read one of your posts, I can't believe that a human being can feel the way you do. You have so much hate for the USA/Israel/ Soldiers..how do you get up in the morning? Now your for the Iranians to kill Americans too..(they already have)..Well, this is a day for you and your muslim brothers to celibrate.
70. "The confirimation of Iranian weapons going to alQueda, and the confirmation of the Iranian military merging with alQueda to fight in Iraq are coming from defectors"
Wrong. Al Qaeda and Iran (government) religiously and passionatly hate each other. This is a well known fact..
It is amazing how this propaganda succeeds in its aim to rile people up for an Invasion in Iran. It has been proven time and time again that much of the so called "proof" has turned out to be tosh.
"..Hezbollah, the Army of God..," No, no, no.. Hezbollah means the "party of God" as in a political party. Much of this article has no basis in fact..
Dont get me started on the IEDs.. before the Iraq war they were supposed to release nuclear weapons in 45 minutes. Now they cant even produced machined copper..
If Iran are supporting cells in Iraq then it must be pointed out that the US are probably supporting cells in Iran.
Impeach BUSH and CHENEY.... NOW!!!
Why did the US invade Iraq? Was it because, as the White House claimed, Saddam Hussein was an immediate and serious threat to America. Or did Bush mislead the public, the Congress and the UN by consistently overstating this threat.
Bush claims he was forced to to invade Iraq as a last resort. But Bush wanted to invade Iraq from the very beginning of his presidency. Many of his team came from the PNAC, a thinktank which urged the overthrow of Saddam Hussein, and pointed out the need for a "new Pearl Harbor". “From the very first instance, it was about Iraq. It was about what we can do to change this regime,” says Ron Suskind. “Day one, these things were laid and sealed.”
This is not a situation where Bush said ten things and one of them was wrong. Basically everything Bush said about the threat from Iraq was false. He had no solid evidence of any threat but still led to this deadly and costly war. Here are the main lies about the threat from Iraq given by Bush and Cheney:
Lie #1 - Uranium from Niger - Bush said "The British Government has learned that Saddam Hussein recently sought significant quantities of uranium from Africa." in his State of the Union Address. The documents supporting that statement were forged.
Lie #2 - Iraq and 9/11 - Bush led people to believe that Iraq was involved with 9/11 by repeatedly linking them in his speeches. This was so effective that at one point 70% of Americans actually believed Saddam was behind 9/11. Bush has since admitted that this was not true.
Lie #3 - Congress Knew - Bush has stated that Congress had access to all the same information that the White House had. Thus he should not be blamed for making the mistake of going to war. But Bush was briefed many times about the falsehood of various stories and this information never reached Congress. Lie #4 - Aluminum Tubes - Bush, Cheney, Rice and Powell said that some
IMPEACH BUSH AND CHENEY.....Cont...
Lie #5 - Iraq and Al Qaeda - Bush still insists that there was a "relationship" between Iraq and Al Qaeda. But the 9/11 Commission released a report saying, among other things, that there was no "collaborative relationship" between Al Qaeda and Iraq. The nature of the relationship seems to be that Al Qaeda asked for help and Iraq refused. Al Qaeda was opposed to Saddam Hussein because Saddam led a secular government instead of an Islamic government. [ZNet] [CNN] On 9/8/06 a Senate panel reported there was no relationship. [ABC]
Lie #6 - Weapons of Mass Destruction - Bush insisted that Iraq possessed weapons of mass destruction but his "evidence" consisted mostly of forged documents, plagiarized student papers, and vague satellite photos. The United Nations was on the ground in Iraq and could find nothing. After extensive searches Bush was finally forced to admit that Iraq did not have weapons of mass destruction. Lie #7 - Mobile Weapons Labs - Bush and his team repeatedly claimed that Iraq possessed mobile weapons labs capable of producing anthrax. Colin Powell showed diagrams of them at his speech before the UN to justify invading Iraq. These claims originated from Curveball, a discredited Iraqi informer who fed Bush many of the stories related to WMD. On May 29, 2003, two small trailers matching the description were found in Iraq. A team of bio-weapons experts examined the trailers and concluded they were simply designed to produce hydrogen for weather balloons. But, for over a year, Bush claimed these were part of Iraq's bio-weapons program. The expert's report was suppressed and only recently made public. [WashPost] [ABC] Bush wanted so much to convince people of the need to invade Iraq that the White House set up a secret team in the Pentagon to create evidence.
The Office of Special Plans routinely rewrote the CIA's intelligence estimates on I
In short...
There was no legitimate reason whatsoever to attack Iraq.
Bush and his cabal of neo-con liars made a catastrophic error in underestimating the Iraqis.
They are also guilty of a level of gross stupidity and ignorance rarely seen in the leaders of modern nations.
The US was warned repeadedly and from many quarters that Iraq would become a magnet for foreign jihadists and would become a "killing ground" for allied troops.
Sadly... we are witnessing daily the carnage unleashed by this monumental foreign policy blunder by the US.
The price is being paid in blood....
The blood of hundreds of thousands of INNOCENT Iraqis... and on a MUCH smaller scale, the blood of American, British and other allied troops.
Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, Perle, Feith.....are up to their murderous necks in this "Blood of the Innocents". (Not to forget puppy dog Blair and the British Labour government that went trotting along behind GW and his henchmen.)
But Bush and Cheney are the criminal godfathers of this bloody, murderous endevour..... and should be impeached in the US and tried as war criminals at the Hague.
#78 globetrotterscotYou have severe denial issues!
The confirmations are coming from the 17 Badr militants the Americans caught a few months ago, as well as Asgari and alHakim who defected. Face the facts globetrotter buddy- the US is in WWIII with Iran. Iran and alQueda have big plans together. Evil joins ranks and grows irregardless if the leaders don't like each other. Power is intoxicating. Do you need me to start the historical list of the megalomaniacs who linked with Hitler? The fact is the US has the proof now that Iran and alQueda and Hezbollah are joining for a mutual purpose- to wipe Israel and anyone who supports her- off the map.
Who knows at this point why Asgari defected- maybe he's trying to bring down Ahnadinajad - and by defecting and telling all, Asgari is planning a better future for huimself.
Reports are that he had documents that connected Iran to Lebanon and Hizb'allah, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad and the insurgents in Iraq- the Mahdi Army and the Badr Corps led by alSadr.
Asgari also knows Iran's nuclear and missile programs, and Tehran's preparations for a possible military conflict with the US.
Aside from that, American troops have personally identified weapons from the insurgents as Iranian made.
#82bill1
Hey bill, that's because your denial buton is still stuck in reverse.
When you back the car out of the garage, do you open the door first or do you wait until after you crash into it?
#23 finnking
I do believe that if an Iranian terrorist came to your neighborhood and blew up your entire community, you would defend their right to do it. How pathetic!
Your comments are not rooted in historical or documented fact. AAre you a propaganda agent for al Qaeda? Come on, tell me, I wont say a word to anyone else if you will just come clean.
#10 Eric
Yes, you are spineless. For one thing you put words in other peoples mouths and then attack those people for saying what they never said, to wit:
"Or you just listen zombie like to your "leader" and shout "YEAH...YEAH... lock'n'load...lets get those Gooks...Ragheads...Islamascum...USA!!! USA!!! USA!!!
"Thats what it looks like to most of the World.
Very cordial, very well reasoned. How very much like a smartass eighth grader pontificating at the lunch table. Especially the part about, " Thats what it looks like to most of the World."
I've got news for you, Skippy, only insecure adolescents base their actions and beliefs on the opinions of others. Go ahead, slick, cozy up to the Islamofascists, see where it gets you.
#47 Finnking
I've alway wondered who these masses are you're talking about. I'm not being facetious, it's a term that isn't used in the US unless it's referring to the "huddled masses yearning to be free" as referenced by the poem at the base of the Statue of Liberty.
Other than that the term sounds like some anachronistic phrase from the 19th Century, like the dark dank humours of the night. You will always be frustrated waiting on the masses to do something because despite the collective term, people will think and act as individuals and defy prediction.

Yeah, that neo-con thing, that really stings. Ouuuch! The other day someone said that I reminded them of Rush and O'Rielly. He was puzzled that I thanked him for the complement.
The truth of the matter is that they are nothing but vile, statist neo-coms. Old wine, new bottles. Plus with their relentless sloganeering and intolerance for competing points of view, they are also a bunch of McCarthskyites.
The US aggressive posturing regarding Iran has IAPAC written all over it.
This is what happens when the American people allow their foreign policy on the Middle East to be hijacked by a special interest lobby group loyal to a foreign government. ... and your elected officials, living in stark terror of IAPAC. are too full of their own self interest to take them on.
For gods sake grow a spine.... take back control of your own foreign policy...and send IAPAC packing.... off to Israel preferably.
Whilst US foreign policy is driven by the influence of the "Unholy Alliance" of IAPAC, Beltway NeoCons and Ultra Right-Wing Christian Evangelists..... the Middle East will remain a "train wreck".
Young American soldiers will continue to be fed into the grinder.... unless and until the American people get a clue... catch a hold of themselves... and start to take more of an interest in the actions of their elected leaders.
Meanwhile...the UK ,under new management, Gordon Brown, will distance itself from the US, until Hilary Clinton is elected President (as she will be) and US foreign policy begins to resemble the lucid thoughts of sane people once again.
The 'Well-Amused Audience':
Americans watch television for an average of four hours and 35 minutes each day, which is 90 minutes more than the average in the rest of the world. But much of this viewing time is devoted to coverage of "serial obsessions," such as the Michael Jackson trial and the Laci Peterson tragedy. Gore warns that the "well-informed citizenry" is in danger of becoming the "well-amused audience."
Only one in four Americans can name more than one of the First Amendment freedoms, but more than half can name at least two members of the Simpsons cartoon family.
Meanwhile, whilst America watches the Simpsons,....what-the-f**k are your so called elected leaders up too ????
You dont know....mostly...'till it explodes in your face. Then there is an almighty American shout, heard around the world, of...."WHAT-THE-F**K WAS THAT ????"
Come on guys...do us all a favour....WAKE-THE-F**K UP !!!!!!

"I do believe that if an Iranian terrorist came to your neighborhood and blew up your entire community, you would defend their right to do it. How pathetic!"
No, I would fight them for oppressing me. Equally, and statistically more probable, I would do likewise should the USA/'uk' state terrorists blow up my community.
Not pathetic in the least.
Which part of my comments are not 'rooted in historic fact'? As for the idea of me a propagandist for anything other than freedom...well....it's odd that you can say that after many months of reading my posts. If someone on these fora makes comments about Isalm or Iran, Iraq etc that I know is the product of propaganda, I react to it.
The Iranians are no threat to anyone. The Afghans DID NOT organise 911 but they DID offer OBL if standard international process was taken regarding extradition (US gov declined) and Iraq was ZERO threat to anyone (as said by Condi Rice (swoon) a few months prior to 911. That is historic fact. Cuba is not a threat (other than showing the ameicas that you can give Uncle Sam a rigid finger), Grenada was not a threat, Nicuragua was/is not a threat, etc etc etc. Who's next Combat Vet? Who is the next demon? How many innocent lives will be terminated under that geopolitical aim masquerading as 'humanitarian/freedom/democracy spreading? How many US/'uk' tax payers' kids will die before you see the truth of what these people are really doing?
There are arse*holes on both sides (all sides) who use propaganda to manipulate the masses to war. It can be old style: Religion or new style: Media. It's the same sh*t, CombatVet. WHo's next?

We are being asked, and our troops are dying, in support of American (AKA...IAPAC / Israeli) foreign policy.
Lets not kid ourselves about whos dirty work we are doing.

I still don't know what you are talking about and, judging by your mixed metaphors, neither do you.

So now it's the Iranians that the US/'uk' elites are having WWIII with, yeah?
So, first it was the evil socialists in Italy (US used nazis to hunt them down), then the nasty folk of south america, then the soviets, then Iran, then Iraq, then Grenada, Panama, oh, Cuba (natch), then ah, there's so many.......
Do you not see a pattern evolving here? It seems that any nation/culture that does not agree with Uncle Sam is 'the enemy'. That is a major component of fascism, CJ. The compliant US/'uk' mainstream media spew out propaganda to encourage you to think of a group of people as being the (current)enemy.
Why is it that most folk outside of the USA regard the USA as the biggest threat to world peace? Is the ROTW wrong in that opinion and only the USA right? And please don't roll out that crap about 'they are jealous of us'. Trust me, from an EU perspective, no one here is jealous.
Iran is being threatened, it has been attacked. What should they do? Roll over? If the USA want to control China, why don't they attack China like they attacked Grenada and Panama? Oh, they did some time ago. Oops.
Who's next on the hit list, CJ?

There is NO threeat from Iraq or Iran.
There is just a shambles masquerading as American foreign policy.

An illegal war of aggression against a state offering no threat whatsoever... on a neocon whim-and-a-prayer.

If by appeasement you mean avoiding conflict in your owm interests, the Romans, Goths, and Huns made an art of it. They didn't do too badly.

olympic footballers who didnt bring home the gold being liberated from their feet...
kurds who dared raise their voices?
how about the general population of iraq? or afghanistan...
question is do you want to pay for their liberation one time today... or twice tomorrow?
because if you are going to keep your liberty, the price WILL be paid... sooner or later

How can you read international news and actually believe there is a world conspiracy to get it all wrong and only you know the truth? Don't you ever just want to break free and admit you're in denial? Accepting the truth that Iran is supplying arms and militia to fight Americans in Iraq and also supplying Al Queda would be a nice first step out of denial: not too too outragous really. Once you accept that, then you could go to weekly I am in Denial Meetings like alcoholics, and we'll help you along on to the road of recovery and living in reality as it really is and then we'll break it to you that we're in WWIII.

Aye, whatever.
Your entire rant is so riddled with inaccuracies that is almost a perfect example of your way of thinking. The assumptions are rife.
1. I am not a Finn2. The USA did not come to aid my way of life. They came to capitalise out of the mayhem (late). The USSR won the war in Europe, the fascists simply moved across the Atlantic; your posts are testimony to that.3. I never said that "cuba hasn't hurt a soul", you just made that up.5. When Finland was fighting the USSR, the USA was HIGHLY PRO nazi. Did you know that?6.Actually, many Europeans do holiday in Cuba and they have a great time there. Cuba would not be an economic backwater if the USA would lift the trade blockade (aka siege).7. You say, "you claim W has so much control over what the US soldiers do? ", er, no I didn't. You just made that up.8. God, this is dull....where was I? Oh, aye: 8. Why would I "look for you to apologise for clinton? Again, you just made that up.9. Condi: Between her making the comment and the brutal invasion of the defenceless state, there were countless weapons inspectors in Iraq. Not a jot. Also, no state in the area was claiming that Saddam was a threat. Not even Israel!10. Clinton as a shining success: I didn't say that. You simply made it up.

I'm sure that Iranian shiites are going into Iraq to help their brothers and sisters fight the US backed Sunnis, but 'Iran' is not sending them.
Also, there is no way that Iran would do anything to help Al Quda, they are sworn enemies.
Which John Le Carre book are you referring to?
It's funny how the English brought about the Iranians Islamist revolution, and now try to blame us when we are reaping their whirlwind. BP and MI6 wanted Mossadegh overthrown. The Shah was put in and, predictably, revolution later ensued. Salman Rushdie: "The Americans were not especially interested in Britain's losses; however, the British played on America's Cold War fears of Soviet influence in the region, and they set out together covertly to subvert Mossadeq's government. Cruelly, both for Mossadeq and all Iranians who wanted 'out' of this international greed and bickering, his neutrality came to be seen as "a sign of his weakness toward the communists."25 Britain's new approach to the situation has been put succinctly by Christopher Woodhouse, an MI6 agent prominent in the covert activities in Tehran: The Americans would be more likely to work with us if they saw the problem as one of containing Communism rather than restoring the position of the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company [read BP]. Although some of the representatives of American oil companies seemed to be circling like vultures over Iran, American officials were inclined to be more co-operative."
So, any English here and anyone who care to join them, our people are dying cleaning up your sh*t, you aren't worth it and, frankly, you never were. We should have left you out for the Germans to eat: both times. You have good reason to lie down for the Islamists: we don't and won't.
#121 "What is it about the stupid Germans and French that they can not learn when they are being manipulated by a dictator?"
Long memories and a sense of reality perhaps.
Interesting link: Let's use it...
Liberty means:
1. freedom from arbitrary or despotic government or control.
Er, both new governments are arbitary and, like most governments, probably despotic.
2. freedom from external or foreign rule; independence.
So funny I need to pee!
3. freedom from control, interference, obligation, restriction, hampering conditions, etc.; power or right of doing, thinking, speaking, etc., according to choice.
Name one government that doesn't enforce these?
4. freedom from captivity, confinement, or physical restraint: The prisoner soon regained his liberty.
Aye, ye get wheeched aff tae Gitmo!
5. permission granted to a sailor, esp. in the navy, to go ashore.
NA
6. freedom or right to frequent or use a place: The visitors were given the liberty of the city.
7. unwarranted or impertinent freedom in action or speech, or a form or instance of it: to take liberties.
8. a female figure personifying freedom from despotism.
So, in the link that YOU provided to define why the USA/'uk' elites are screwing over Afghanistan and Iraq there are 9 definitions of 'liberty'. 4 are not applicable and the litmus test fails on the remaining pertinent ones!
Great, Mike, really.

FinnkingThat's because you do not experience the honor of generations of military in your family. It is diffiiicult to explain with words to a pacifist that these kids really feel the honor and the privilege deep from their heart as a duty to family and to country. To be military is their destiny- the two navy pilots never thought otherwise, one is a young woman btw.

How about YOU move past your old dictionary so sorely in need of updating and take a look at current meaning. Yes, Bush is not a neocon by the definition of the term used when Reagan was in office or when Irving Kristol was first setting out the neocon agenda. Most of the founders of the movement were liberal. But the word doesn't mean that any more, just like the word Remublican no longer means what it once did. It now stands for a facist movement to establish an American Empire and yes, it is an insult. Or do you like facists?

"these kids really feel the honor and the privilege deep from their heart as a duty to family and to country"
What is this grotesque overgeneralization as though you knoew what was in the hearts and minds of the troops? How arrogant. Many of them signed up perfectly willing to defend their country and yet recognize that they are being sacrificed for corporate greed. Yet others signed up because that was the only way they saw to support their families or go to college (which, thanks to Bush & Co.'s deregulation, has gotten ever farther our of the reach of many non-wealthy people.)
By the way, Eric didn't "insult the Simpsons". He pointed out the very true fact that most Americans are better informed when it comes to popular culture thaan they are about basics like, oh... geography, politics...
No one in their right minds would insult the Simpsons.

No I dont have denial issues, I have facts. So your version of a "fact" is that the US is in WW3 with Iran and Al Qaeda? what kind of fact is this? Who has decided that the US is in WW3? You?
I am the only person who can point out the same trend as was before the Iraq war as it is with Iran now? Same lies, same story. They are already admitting the AL Qaeda ties to Iraq are bull.
Sorry, you say that you have absolute proof that Iran, Hez, and Al Qaeda have joined ranks? I´d very much like to see this "proof". If you can display some absolute proof then i will happily admit I am wrong.
Why are they fighting against each other in Iraq then? Could you please explain this one.
They are even trying to connect Iran to sept 11th, no doubt to garter support for an invasion. If you believe this then you believe anything.
Please stop with the "wipe off the map" rhetoric. It has already been concluded that A´jad has never said this.
Iran would be crazy not to plan for a conflict with the US. As can be seen with all this sabre rattling, how would you react when countries threaten to ´Nuke you?
The so called "Iranian weapons" in Iraq are very very dubious. I´ll explain this when i get a bit of time..
114 Lynne: hope so too...Thanx
It´s amazingly to hear the old stories again and again..if none is guilty, I ask myself why must blood flow again and again...
dictators are just as stupidly as fanatics those use their religion as excuse for any crazy actions...Completely equal which religion!

#146This is a speech made by AhmadinejadOctober 2005, Nazila Fathi of The New York Times' Tehran bureau reported Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as saying, in part:
Our dear Imam (referring to Ayatollah Khomeini) said that the occupying regime must be wiped off the map and this was a very wise statement. We cannot compromise over the issue of Palestine. Is it possible to create a new front in the heart of an old front. This would be a defeat and whoever accepts the legitimacy of this regime has in fact, signed the defeat of the Islamic world. Our dear Imam targeted the heart of the world oppressor in his struggle, meaning the occupying regime. I have no doubt that the new wave that has started in Palestine, and we witness it in the Islamic world too, will eliminate this disgraceful stain from the Islamic world.

Translation of phrase "wiped off the map"
Many news sources have presented one of Ahmadinejad's phrases in Persian as a statement that "Israel must be wiped off the map"an English idiom which means to cause a place to "obliterate totally",and "destroy completely", such as by powerful bombs or other catasrophes
The Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) translates the phrase
This regime that is occupying Qods Jerusalem must be eliminated from the pages of history.
161. jammen"This regime that is occupying Qods Jerusalem must be eliminated from the pages of history."
Take note: im not repeating. A´jad was referring to the government, not the nation of Israel. There is a very very stark difference. Eliminating a regime is very different to wiping a country off the map.
Iran may very well be supplying weapons into Iraq. I´m not here to dispute that.I´m just trying to dispute the so called "proof" paraded in front of the whole world..
Could you answer these things for me?
1. Why is the writing on the shell cases in english and not Farsi? It could be argued that they are in english for sale in international markets, but this is not the case with the majority of the Iranian stockpile2. It was claimed that the date on the munitions was from march 2006, so called "proof" that the weapons were recently made. Why is the date from the western callender? #155 globetrotter- peruThis is what American and UK papers report: Give me the link that prooves these defections are not true.
The day is long and things are lost so I will repost: Two major defections from Iran are why we are now getting new information. We're also captured, in Iraq, Iranian weapons and Iranian militants.
The confirimation of Iranian weapons going to alQueda, and the confirmation of the Iranian military merging with alQueda to fight in Iraq are coming from defectors.
February, 2007: Asagari goes missing in Turkey March 8, 2007: There are reports he talked with Israel and with the US He obviously defected.Iran threatened retaliation against the Brits and the US.March 23, 2007: Iran snagged 15 British sailors. Iran then attempted a swap- which did not happen.
Former Mossad director Danny Yatom, who is now a member of Israel's parliament, said he believes Asgari defected to the West. "He is very high-caliber," Yatom said. "He held a very, very senior position for many long years in Lebanon. He was in effect commander of the Revolutionary Guards" there.
Ram Igra, a former Mossad officer, said Asgari spent much of the 1980s and 1990s overseeing Iran's efforts to support, finance, arm and train Hezbollah. The State Department lists the Shiite Lebanese group as a terrorist organization.
"He lived in Lebanon and, in effect, was the man who built, promoted and founded Hezbollah in those years," Igra told Israeli state radio. "If he has something to give the West, it is in this context of terrorism and Hezbollah's network in Lebanon."
IEDs possibly made in Pakistan?!?!

maybe not i dont know..
@ James Donald ...while he translates he´ll be quiet...that´s what i want ^^
I just watched footage of the fighting between the Lebanese Army and the Palestinian militia linked to Al Qaida.
The Palestinians were firing M16/A2s
I am pretty sure if you were to examine them closely you would find the words... something like;
Colt's Firearms DivisionColt IndustriesHartford. Conn.U.S.A.
SAFE SEMI AUTO (on the fire selector)
M16 A2CAL. 5.56 MM.8009578
All this in ENGLISH !!! OMG !!!
Where could they have come from ????
What nasty regime supplied them ???
When we find out their origin we should bomb the nasty suppliers of these deadly weapons !!!
#164 running to peruBTW Have you seen any dictators from the old days? Or are they dead by now?
You said:Iran would be crazy not to plan for a conflict with the US. ..
I agree, and posted previously that Iran has planned for war. alHakim, Iranian leader of Badr Brigade provided that bit of news to the Whitehouse.
Second:another hairsplitting I'm d@mned tired of hearing: Amadinejad was repeating, agreeing and confirming in not one but many speeches what was originally spoken by Khomeini. Repeating and confirming a statement, at some point, is the same as speaking the statement.
I do not know what shell cases you're talking about. However, everything, if you want it to sell on an international market, is in English because it is a common denominator in the world exchange and untraceable as such.
166. just so you know mate im not trying to pick a fight or anything.. This is just a meaningful debate in a democratic forum. I do respect your views and everyone elses as long as they dont turn to mindless slander as many do!!
As it is you who was the one to make the claim of Al Qaeda teaming up with iran, the burden of proof lies on you. Unfortunately to me this does not mean proof. While the defections themselves are probably true, it is the comments themselves that could be false. Who knows.
I personaly think that Iran could very well be interfering in Iraq.. its just the so called "proof" displayed everywhere is a tad dubious. That is what i am disputing.
#138--Lynne---hi!..... these posters who ""own defeat""(hi finnking:) are a sad lot......away a few days & after reading all, it's the same old tired rehtoric......especially 'eric the viking'-he needs new material:)........ those who support & appease the islamic jihadists will never believe iran is supporting the taleban in Afghanistan & jihadists in Iraq.....they're happy in their role as appeasers.....i do hope that when their country of origin gets their wake-up-call from their friends that they aren't around to witness it....i think most posters(yes including Finnking:) believe these jihadists are a bad lot, at least i hope so:)
Defectors invariably tell their new best friends exactly what they want to hear.
They will say anything in order to make themselves important and valuable.
Intelligence Services know this and generally take what the offer-up with a very large pinch of salt.
This was certainly the case with the Iraqi exiles that fed the US all the false intelligence on Saddams WMDs..... and it will certainly be the case with the Iranian defectors/exiles.
As I've said before.... please wake up.
170.
Lol nah no dictators..
It was the info, language and wording in the speach, not the speach itself. That the speach took place at all was not what i was arguing against.. just the content.
The shell cases that were found in Iraq could have come from anywhere: pakistan etc simply because of the english language. To simply show photos and claim them as "proof" is wrong.
#173I posted links.Where's yours.'I read everything in my way'
172. Sandy. Please stop with the rhetoric and slander.Just because you form your own views and opinions, and that they differ to your own, does not make you a "terrorist appeaser".
#148 mike - across the pond
You said
"the US military is a VOLUNTEER force... as much as I think there should be mandatory service in america, there is NOT so.... nobody is forced to enter, or re-enlist, AND there are minimum standards... we dont have "cannon fodder"
That will be the volunteers who are bribed with $60,000 sign on fees, payment of college fees, free medical treatment, etc.
I would call them mercenaries except for the fact that most are poor kids who dont have much of a choice if they want to get themselves out of poverty.
Dont you think its disgusting that your countries leaders (on both sides) are lobbied by the large corporations that pay for there election, to pass laws that keep a large proportion of your population in poverty so that they can be bribed into becoming cannon fodder when the large corporations deem it neccesary to go to war to protect there interests...
#173 ericWhat is your explanation for this:After Asgari 'disappeared' in Turkey and soon surfaced with Israel and United States, Iran theatened to retaliate. Sure enough, March 23, Iranian took 15 UK sailors and then wanted to trade prisoners.Do you recall that?
#151--SweetMike----your quite capable of getting your point across w/out the crude language, ok?:)
#177---Globetrotter_scot....
""just because you form your own views & opinions, & they differ to your own""........LOL
#175Re the dictators- I wasn't sure. Good to know they're gone or moved elsewhere. Peru has such a history of dictatorship regimes I couldn't recall the current state of militancy- are the shining path Maoists a problem or have they moved to other areas?
#176 cjammenheuser
True to form Carolyn. Your post at 166 has a big piece quoted from the one story you linked to about a supposed defector, here.www.thewashingtonnote.com/archives/001991.php
You claime absolute proof of this defection even though various people quoted contradict each other.See Below.........
A former Iranian deputy defense minister who once commanded the Revolutionary Guard has left his country and is cooperating with Western intelligence agencies, providing information on Hezbollah and Iran's ties to the organization, according to a senior U.S. official.according to a senior U.S. official.
Iranian officials suggested yesterday that he may have been kidnapped
The Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported that Asgari was in the United States.
Another U.S. official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, denied that report and suggested that Asgari's disappearance was voluntary and orchestrated by the Israelis.
The Israeli government denied any connection to Asgari. "To my knowledge, Israel is not involved in any way in this disappearance," said Mark Regev, the spokesman for Israel's foreign ministry.
The Iranian official said Asgari was thought to be in Europe. "He has been out of the loop for four or five years now," the official said.
Even the US and Israel cant agree on the story....
You then use the last three paragraphs of the same story in an attempt to bolster your claim of Iranian involvement in Hezbollah. They are quotes from 2 Israelis, neither of whch provides any PROOF, just what they think.
Guga II, Rockall
You must be a Troll, the real Guga from Rockall does not have "II" after his name and is hung like a gnat.
187. Mr. Howell
Wow - that sounds as though you are admiring Guga II's assets...
#188. Rudy
The real Guga & I travel in the same circles, do you have a problem with that?
#176Djookers:Rather than link The Washington Post, who I believe broke the story, I linked the washingtonnote because it had the washington post link ANDthe comments which are interesting. I said at my early post:"Here's an interesting link about Asgari defecting and spilling Iranian secrets:(It even has blogger's comments about the 15 British sailors)"I was attempting to show the link between the defection, Iran's threats at retaliation, the 15 UK sailors taken captive and the US capture of the Iranian Badr militants in Iraq, all happening within two weeks. My opinion on this complex matter derives not from this single report by the Washington Post, which is limited information leaked by the Whitehouse to serve the purpose of the POTUS, but from a variety of sources I read from many countries and news sources. There are many links/sources I could have posted but I don't believe anyone on this blog cares or would read them since their minds are set and not open to all sources of information.

In view of the lies perpetrated by the Bush regime concerning Iraq, the propaganda now being put about in regard to Iran is questionable to say the least.
One recalls Colin Powell's presentation at the UN describing Iraq as crawling with WMD.
To say that this Iranian defector is "Co-operating" with US authorities, one wonders if it's the same type of "Co-operation" as those held at Guantanamo.
An attack on Iran based on more lies and inaccurate "Intelligence" should generate an infinite and perpetual hostility toward the US and anyone else who is stupid enough to join them.
If Israel thinks that they will benefit from an attack on Iran, they should think again.
It seems that a lynch mob mentality still exists within this Bush regime.
#201 billI forgot Bush Sr. ran the CIA!!!! Finally Bush Jr. is listening to Senior? More probable is that GWB is listening to Gen. Petraeus and the intel he's getting from the Mossad and this batch of Iranian defectors
#213 TheTruthNo lies when it comes to Iran-Rest assured, Israel, Turkey and the US already know where the development is- and the US Navy has exxes on the Iranian nuclear sites. If decided, those sites will be hit with a very accurate Patriot missile.

Lets have the truth, Thats right dude. Make sure you continue to run down the actions that your government and fighting men who are fighting for it.
As posts to this column are now subject to pre approval and censor. This is my last post . Big Brother is watching you.

What do you mean your brother is an Army pilot? You mean he flys helcopters?
216. SweetMike
Of course, because when we saw you post in german we just HAD to be like you. I can't speak for Only a Woman but personally, I ran out yesterday afternoon and bought a "Teach Yourself German" book and speed-read my way through it so I could be just like you.
Not.
217. Garmin Girl
Actually I haven't seen Guga II post anything that makes him look like a troll. But with your ever-changing identities, I am now certain about you. My brother is absolutely none of your business.
#214
"If decided, those sites will be hit with a very accurate Patriot missile".
Why would they use an anti missile missile? I think one of Ronald Dumsfeld's bunker busters would be more appropriate.
221. Let's have the truth, Australia
""214. cjammenheuser If decided, those sites will be hit with a very accurate Patriot missile""
Why would they use an anti missile missile?
Because that would be all they would have left, when the carrier fleets had been sent to the bottom by Iran's plentiful supply of missiles.
#222---Bill,england----""why would they use an anti missile missile?""..""because that would be all they would have left, when the carrier fleets had been sent to the bottom by iran's plentiful supply of missiles""..........

You sure are a rude one.
you drinking the kool-aid finn-queen & eriqTheViQueen have been brewing?
the re-enlistment bonuses and GI-Bill? yeah, they are there, it IS what keeps the retention up... however it isnt unlike any retention program at ANY major employer in america anyway... it is designed to keep the folks they want/need to keep...
what you are missing is the FACT that no matter how sweet the carrot those re-enlistment bonuses are... nobody is forcing you to re-enlist and take that carrot... I walked away after 5 years of service... left that bonus on the table...
the sign-up bonuses... they do give people of MANY backgrounds a way out/up from where they are without borrowing from mom, dad, rich uncle, whatever..... one thing you forgot was housing, the GI bill gets you a mortgage at a decent rate with little or no money down... which for the middle to lower class puts you 5-10 years of good luck, scrimping and saving ahead of those who dong have it... its called a BENEFIT... its how I got into my first house... and the big corporations offer NOTHING like it... to the entry level guys anyway...
#224--Lee Morgan---great link!...thanks:)
@ James Donald...
the next post to SweetMike I´ll write in "plattdeutsch"... ;o)
Sorry SweetMike, but that was really funny ;o)))like you ^^
#228--Bill,england----""not at all, i wouldn't wish anyone harm""........i believe that--just wanted a clarification:).....good link, thanks...... since this isn't an official iranian defense link, who would have this knowledge of their weapon's for this site??couldn't find an indication of who feeds it....
233. SweetMike
Sorry you'v been moderated, nothing to do with me I assure you, I never report anyone.
I know you can read this, so just re-register under a different email address and name. I miss you already!
231. mike - across the pond
Yes, I know the only risk is a lucky shot, but that has to be taken into account, and of course Iran would be jubilant.
I thought the days of gunboat diplomacy were over, and it seems to me to be a very risky business putting warships in harm's way; they don't all have state of the art defence systems, phalanx and suchlike.
See you when you get back again - SweetMike2?
Sweetmike
That has happened to many of the most active posters. I agree - the pre-approval thing is absolute rubbish, but don't let Big Brother win. Just create Sweetmike2.

Did you get moderated?? What in the heck is with the Scotsman and this moderating rubbish.
Oh no - now I will probaby be moderated.
special greetings to SweetMike 2...lol
hope you come back soon ;o)
@Rudy & James Donald
nice to be a "criminal" poster... ;o))
242. Only a Woman 2
Well I have never been so pleased to have the acquaintance of a criminal. ;)
Actually the constant banning pf people's ids is annoying and one of the reasons I don't post on the Scotsman nearly as regularly as I once did. You get to like someone or to enjoy debatting with them and suddenly they disappear. I find it disrespectful that people are moderated (aka your posts never get through) with no explanation.

How come you are now using a different identity?? Why has happened to your usual ID as "Only a Woman"? SweetMike is still using the same SweetMike at #233.
Mistake on first line
What has happened to......
SweetMike, Bill1, Rudy T.D., Lee Morgan and any one else interested.
I have also been banned from posting on these fora. First under my original username of thatscottishwoman and second under my "new" username of TSW1 which was set up in protest at my original banning. I believe that these bannings were at the request of other posters. Because of these bannings I decided a few weeks ago to veto these fora until the Scotsman addresses the problems of trolling, spurious accusations and complaints and the indiscriminate deleting of posts which lead to a poster being banned.
I am breaking my veto only to post this comment as I have noticed that more and more legtimate posters are being banned from these fora by over zealous moderators. I would urge those posters who believe in free speech to raise their concerns with the editor:

251. Night_Worker,
Living in the middle of nowhere, it's very easy to "get alone" with folk!
The TSW, Djookers, BW and MAEB comment is flawed, in my opinion. Do you notice that these people tend to argue from the libertarian left? And they are banned. The rabid red-necks can say anything they like about arabs and muslims but make a comment about zionist expansionist foreign policy and....oot ye go.
247. thatscottishwoman 2
I told you to stop complaining about all of this! When I get home tomorrow we will talk further about this and put a final stop to your belly aching. If you just knew how to play better with others you would not be in this situation

"Do you notice that these people tend to argue from the libertarian left? And they are banned. The rabid red-necks can say anything they like about arabs and muslims but make a comment about zionist expansionist foreign policy and....oot ye go."
Interesting point and accurate to a degree. However, there are quite a few "anti-zionist" posters who are thankfully not being banned. I may not agree with them but censorship only harms the debate.

"you drinking the kool-aid finn-queen & eriqTheViQueen have been brewing?"
No koolaid where I come from, purely a US invention as far as I know, so you are more likely to be drinking it than me.......
"the re-enlistment bonuses and GI-Bill? yeah, they are there, it IS what keeps the retention up... however it isnt unlike any retention program at ANY major employer in america anyway... it is designed to keep the folks they want/need to keep..."
Most army and marine recruiting is from the more southern states, usually ones with right to work laws and high levels of minimum wage jobs.Last time I was in the US they were hoping Walmart were going to build a store near our locale in Oklahoma, main reason being it would bring 200 jobs, min wage, but that came with Medical insurance. These kind of places employers dont need to pay sign on bonuses........
"what you are missing is the FACT that no matter how sweet the carrot those re-enlistment bonuses are... nobody is forcing you to re-enlist and take that carrot... I walked away after 5 years of service... left that bonus on the table..."
Pte Jessica Lynch may not have been "forced" to enlist, but coming from a poor town in the rust belt with 25% unemployment it was the only way she was going to get through college. There are ways of twisting peoples arms??? yes?
"the sign-up bonuses... they do give people of MANY backgrounds a way out/up from where they are without borrowing from mom, dad, rich uncle, whatever..... one thing you forgot was housing, the GI bill gets you a mortgage at a decent rate with little or no money down... which for the middle to lower class puts you 5-10 years of good luck, scrimping and saving ahead of those who dong have it... its called a BENEFIT... its how I got into my first house... and the big corporations offer NOTHING like it... to the entry level guys anyway..."

And so what about you? Don't point finger at others! You're the same, talking nonsense and misquoted anything Israeli, America and Christianity to get your pro-Muslim or pro-Arab comments across!
So some Anti-Israeli and Anti-American loonies are complaining their posts were deleted and their initial ID banned! That's the price to pay for playing naughty, ugly name calling, hurling insults and poking silly funs. You asked for it!
254. Finnking, Finland / 8:20pm 24 May 2007
I've noticed that, whenever articles related to Muslim issue popped out, you (and some of your pals too) would always find an opportunity to spew anti-Christians remark or just resort to subject change talking of Christians instead while the other posters were still on sticking to discussion on the related article.
247. thatscottishwoman 2 Oh, I don't know you were banned! But your posts were more "gentle and human" as compared to Halitosis - who is overjoyed to see more American soliders killed and tortured to death! Where is Bikewoman? I haven't seen her posts and reckon she is now using another identity.
