The "traditional" newsreader bit does seem to have died out. Now we have Punch and Judy set-ups, where it takes two or more of them to read the news.

That, of course, means paying two or more salaries, but why should the EBC care? After all, they are subsidised by money stolen from the taxpayer, because they apparently can't compete on the open market.

Bring back Moira Stewart, and get rid of all the Punch and Judies.

I listen to Rad4 via web. It's the only decent news available. TV news quality has dropped to an all-time low and, to me, simply seems to be an inconvenience slotted in between soaps, reality TV, game shows and the other tripe that is peddled as "entertainment".
Bring back Moira and bring back quality news.

Moira Stuart is an excellent newsreader, and extremely feminine! Contrast her good self with the dames who turn up on STV and BBCS. The Beeb are MAD to let her go.

At least she reported news without that annoying self-satisfied smug smirk quite a few of them have!

I was going to give this some credence then I realised that the critisism was voiced by a POLITICIAN!

She always looks as though she's doing an impression of the queen to me.
