I can't help thinking that there is more to this than meets the eye

He probably attacked him for driving a Zafira - no doubt attempting to knock some sense into him but failing.

I blame the Greenways.

They encourage selfish, aggressive driving on that part of the A71.

All very well having "use both lanes" as you approach the roundabouts, but it's like a Mexican Standoff when you exit the roundabouts again!

I just close my eyes and go for it!

If the guy is caught he should lose his license for life. Driving is a privilege, not a right, and those who abuse it shouldn't be allowed in charge of a car again.

Must be the councils fault, after all every other driving story is blamed on the council.Come on ENN,you can find an angle to blame the council if you try

This story on Forth 1 was reported slightly different. Apparently it all started on Riccarton Mains Road where one driver cut up the other.
It wouldn't surprise me if a cat & mouse chase started, ending up with a toe to toe on the Calder Road.
Now violence is never the answer but I've seen it a lot on the roads where someone sitting in the their car reckons they are behind an invisibility cloak coupled with an invincibility force field. Giving it loads on the horn, lights flashing like a cop car and weaving about like a dodgem. Different story when the vehicles stop, don't trust for one minute that the other person is just as civilised as you are and would like to debate this driving indifference over a cup'o'tea!
No, chances are that someone who causes you enough grief on the road to start this mad behaviour is probably daft enough to take it as far as you want, and then some!
Stick to the highway code, a little toot on the horn to remind them you are there, that is all that's required and carry on your merry way safe in the knowledge that there is one more ar$£ehole in front of you leaving one less behind you!

#8 "No, chances are that someone who causes you enough grief on the road to start this mad behaviour is probably daft enough to take it as far as you want, and then some!"

I beg to differ. I do challenge these losers and I get out of my car at red traffic lights to give them a piece of my mind (politely). They are normally stunned and just call me a slag or something highly intelligent like that. I have a low tolerance of morons and I always let them know it. I'm not like them, I don't get in my car and think I am Evil Kinevel or whatever his name was and these sad little gits, normally lads, need to realise that they are not invincible just because they can drive a car, just like so many of the reast of us. As a safe and courteous driver we need to run these potential dangers off the road by not letting them get away with it. Whether it be by having a word with them or taking there number plates and reporting them.

What is the point of this name calling? Either explain what's wrong with (perfectly reasonable IMO) #9 concerned mum's posting, or spare us the toddler-level stuff.

#12, whats wrong with it is that she can't tell the difference between someone who performs MOTORCYCLE stunts and someone who drives a car.

The Floating Voltaire,

Nearly at Ottawa, but there's a lot of sh!t about. 23/04/2007 17:22:34

I've tried taking the number plates but the lights usually change before I can get the second screw undone.

#8 - Concerned mum - What are you going to do with the number plates that you take?

(I presume that you mean the registration numbers and aren't actually going to take the plates off the cars!)

Report them to the police?

Don't waste your time.

#8 I would be very concerned for your safety behaving like that! Sometimes it just isn't worth it just to have your say.

Concerned Mum,
Under the circumstances I apologise.
Nothing personal.
Thanks.
