The totalitarians and the control freaks are slowly gaining the upper hand; and Bliar has been leading the charge.

That's another point for Bliar's "legacy", trying to outdo Joe Stalin.

There is far too much interference and information gathering going on by people who don't need to know everything.

The government has written to all UK GP's asking them to upload all our medical records onto the system, without asking the patient!

Local councils are asking far too much unnecessary information for their purpose; sometimes the requests are outwith the legal requirements.

In the film "Sound of Music" when Von Trappe said to the young solider "that was a private telegraph" the solider said: "we make it our business to know everything about you"!

It is noe time to ensure that we guard against these "big brother" intrusions and resist any attempts to snoop into our lives.

Banks, building societies and supermarkets also want to know far too much. Everytime a person uses their passport it is intended that the transaction will be uploaded onto the government IT system, the Spine. Government profiling and snooping?

Supermarkets are already profiling people by invitation: to buy your "core" shopping list!

Heaven help us all when they start target marketing us for everything.

If you have your house insurance with the big supermarkets they'll know what type of house you live in, what type of food you buy, whether you have young chilren and soon "little johnnie" will be targetted for life insurance and savings and whatever is on offer. Crickey, they know just what type of foods we drink and eat and smoke. All very useful for some organisations who want to cover our health insurance.

Far too much information is now falling into private companies hands. There's talk that the government intends to SELL our information, including tax details to private organisations.

This is definitely big brother.

People need to waken up to the survellience society that the UK has become.

It will get worse, not better.
