This is the functioning democracy that the crazies in Israel and the United States want to attack. Russia will begin nuclear fuel shipments come the new year. The United States, when Iran was governed by the Shah and the secret police, was fully willing to sell Iran reactors...in line with the 1950s policy of 'Atoms for Peace.' By producing electricity with nuclear power, Iran will be able to sell more oil in the international market and begin to prepare for the time when oil is exhausted.

Hopefully, voters in the US will reject the calls for war from their religious kooks and mercenary materialist interests that support the hardliner Bush and his neo-Con mentors--who lost heavily in the last election. The fundamentalist policies of the Washington hardline mullahs are increasingly at odds with the peaceful aspirations of the American people.

Yes, and Iran was a democracy before the Shah, and in other periods of the 20th century.

But, if USA and it's a large military base in the Middle East named "Israel" attack Iran, it wouldn't be the first time USA would overturn a democratic government.

Also a war is easy to start, the hard is getting the people to support it, and that's usually done by telling them they are in danger (it has been done before).

Whoever becomes the President of Iran, it is still " A Puppet " of the "AYATOLLAHS", and the "MOOHLAS" of Iran. These are the supreme leaders that "DICTATES" the President, it is only a "title" a "useless title". They are only showing to the world that they have election like in a democratic countries. It is impossible for ISLAMIC COUNTRY to become DEMOCRACY. The " Real democracy" is there a SEPARATION of "State and Religion"( even it is a cult).
