Yes well what can one say... If Scotland wanted to survive on biomass we'd all have to move out to make room for the crops!
He lost me in the middle with all the stats from obscure African nations etc. I think what he means is "Sun" good , "Oil" bad! Only its taken two days to say it!
Comment@2 Free, hi mate, you should know better, i think his comment on Sun was more symbolic but the rest was to help get the underlying message of expect more green taxes :)
Anyway...........heres a potential solution that has been very useful throughout history.http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?docid=-30703582047161... part two is further down the page
I thought this was gonna be an article on how Page 3 keeps you fit. What a disappointment!!
What price Nuclear Fusion, eh?
8. Infidel, Dar ul harbNot necessarily! Hot fusion in the form of the Torus project is proving difficult, not surprisingly considering the temperatures involved and the consequent containment problems. There is however another possibility and that is Cold Fusion.
I know the Establishment crucified Professor Pons and Flieshman when they first announced their discovery. Reproduction of the action has been difficult but it has now been achieved by a number scientists throughout the world and reproducible results are becoming commonplace.
Most of the research, with the notable exception of the US Navy, has been privately funded by the scientists themselves and this lack of funds has inhibited progress. The time has come when the Scientific Establishment needs to be ignored and public money used to accelerate research into this phenomenon. As with all human endeavors there is the possibility of failure, but if successful, the rewards to humanity are incalculable.
Modern commercial nuclear fission reactors are cheap, reliable & produce only a cubic metre of reactor waste annually, with a relatively short half life.
Fusion, if it ever worked as its supporters hope, would be nice but we are perfectly capable of building a wealthy future for the world on fission.
A thousand feet underground in the sort of container you can drive a train, at full tilt, into without damage.
If you want ot worry - worry about the rotor of a windmill being blown off carried through the air, beside a snowman & landing on your head. Its a lot more likely than short term radioactive waste attacking you.
We will give it to England of course Richard, just as they did with their own waste.
