the United States ends up having to choose sides between the factions in Iraq that are tearing their country apart. “Personally, I have always been a bit partial to the Shi'ites,” says Davis. “And I know many others who feel the same way." Davis advises the Sunni faction to "wake up and smell the coffee."

Congresswoman Davis was re-elected to her seat in Congress in the November elections by a slim but substantial majority. “Slim but substantial – much like myself,” she jokes. A fierce defender of the American family – and its greatest supporter in Congress -- Davis has no qualms about being able to adjust to her new role in the minority in Congress.

“Frankly, it will be much less work for me,” she says with her trademark grin.“And while Nancy (Pelosi) can be a major ballbuster, I do feel that we can extend hands to each other across the aisle to bring the many blessings envisioned in some of my signature legislation to the American people.”

Davis specifically plans to seek Pelosi’s assistance in voting into law three of her “signature” legislative packages: the Mandatory Portion Control Act (MPCA), aimed at curbing America’s growing obesity problem; “Project SATYR,” a program designed to capitalize on the current "scrapbooking craze" to increase youth reading levels through individual vouchers and major tax-breaks to the American scrapbooking industry; and the Yoga Mat Cleanliness Act (YMCA), which Congresswoman Davis has been promoting this fall through taped appearances with New York-based celebrity actress Sarah Jessica Parker, who recently caught a bad case of tinea cruris from using an unclean yoga mat in her home state of Ohio, a swing state.

Before responding to the call of democracy, Congresswoman Davis was herself a Broadway actress and chanteuse; she skyrocketed to fame in the 1990's with her raunchy rock-anthem “(Doing the) Baby Dance,” which reached No. 4 on the Billbo

I would be a little surprised if we hadn't been having (at least low-level) back channel talks with them for a long time. The British did with the IRA for years before it came out. In any event, Baker is a pragmatist. And we need more of that and less ideology, which always gets one into trouble.

So on one side Bush is trying to isolate Iran because of its legal nuclear program and hinting at strong action against it.... but on the other side he's asking them for help in Iraq?

It seems kinda' fishy to me. If Iran does help in Iraq it will have to take partial responsibility for what's going on there. So what if it can't do anything in there because MOSSAD keeps faking bombing attacks in populated places to start up the civil war? What then? It seems like a trap to me.

And what about the "last push", US military commanders have been talking about... sending another 50000 troops in Iraq? What about the generals who oppose every move of Iran?

quote:

"CAMBRIDGE, MASS. The top U.S. general in the Middle East said Friday that if the world did not find a way to stem the rise of Islamic militancy, it would face a third world war. "

Something is bound to go wrong in such a situation.

Even more interesting:

11/19/06 "AFP"-- -- WASHINGTON - A classified draft CIA assessment has found no firm evidence of a secret drive by Iran to develop nuclear weapons, as alleged by the White House, a top US investigative reporter said on Saturday.

a very evil clique controls the US and pardon me for saying, has a degree of control over the UK as well. As Dragomir showed us there are many in the US government power structure who do oppose that evil clique. But the pattern has been that these people get pushed aside.

the clique that rules is like the NAZIs were. they are from the same root even. Just like the NAZIs they are relentless, they will kill anyone in their way and they have many tools that give them strong confidence that they will rule.

unfortunately, say good-bye to the old America that was a truly exceptional and good country. We Americans remain the same people we've been in the past, but are unable to control these events.

Congresswoman Sherri Davis: Bringing a Touch of Haute to the U.S. House

NEW YORK, NY (USNEWS) November 22, 2006 -- Blame our tired old stereotypes for the surprise that greeted TV viewers tuning into Congresswoman Sherri Davis' election night victory party. The congresswoman-elect turned heads in what she described as "a black, crepey-chiffony kind of cocktail dress" that she bought off the rack at Macy's mere hours before the polls closed.
"We literally were running through Macy's," Davis said, after calling ahead to have some dresses pulled. "We had 20 minutes, and I had to do a radio show at the same time, so here I am in the dressing room with my teenage son on the phone and pulling a dress over my head."

If this isn't what you expect to hear from a female politician, perhaps it's because Davis doesn't fit the image of those who, sometimes rightly but mostly wrongly, consider Congress the domain of dowdy Bella Abzugs. Far from distancing herself from the topic as frivolous, Davis reveled in the invitation to describe a style that's determinedly feminine.

Over the past several years, her look has provided fodder for radio hosts, gossip columnists and bloggers. Some naysayers try to diminish her with descriptions such as "sexy" or "hot," while one simpatico site good-naturedly swooned over her as "Senator Eye Candy."

Doesn't bother her. Election night's foray into full-tilt glamour was ordained when she emerged from the dressing room to a "Wow," in unison, from campaign spokeswoman Ezekiel Hilton and a girlfriend. When Davis, in her victory speech, vowed to "hit the ground running, even in high heels," it was not an empty promise.

"Since I was a little girl, I either wore my mother's high heels or aspired to wear high heels," she said a few days later by cell phone while being driven to a post-election appearance on "The Colbert
