I wonder if any skin or hair of the animal still exists. If so it will probably, at some time in the future, be possible to recreate it.

There may well be Shetland home where an old umbrella stand holds the last DNA sample of this creature.

Could always dig through the old middens for grice bones and get the DNA that way. Hmm...there could be a PhD thesis in there somewhere or at least some dodgy sausages...
