I really am not surprised when you see the absolute mince that TV puts out these days.TV executives are showing themselves to be so far out of touch with people, if they don't start listening, TV will go to the wall within the matter of a few years.

All the signs are that a shake-out is coming in the TV industry and it may have already started. The BBC has laid off several thousand staff and the head of ITV had to resign the other day after a bad financial year. It is nearly 50 years since Roy Thomson said that commercial TV was "a licence to print money".

There are still 3 things that television can do well, namely news, sports and weather. With the decline in TV viewers and the fragmentation of the audience, there is no longer the money for traditional "quality broadcast programmes" as we understood them. Sad!
