It will only take one bad winter for all this rubbish talked about 'climate change' invading species to have died a death, just like tropical plant seeds.

You should try living in Ozzie for a bit almost everything that walks, slithers, swims or flys is liable to give you a very nasty bite, including the shielas! Mind you the Ozzies just get on with it, does not seem to bother them one iota.

I have to agree a cold winter should destroy the eggs or larve of any of these subtropical species but genetic mutations are happing all the time. Just as the cockroach has survived since the begining these sorts may learn to flurish.

Brits will soon learn the value of screens on their windows as nasty little visitors (or colonisers) from warmer climes come to visit, settle and thrive. I just read how armadilloes from Mexico are extending their habitat northward by 10-20 miles a year; they have now been reported in northern Arkansas. Florida manatees have visited the coast of Maine. Ain't nature wonderful?
