I suppose the Westminister mob are quite happy to let these flights proceed since if there is an unfortunate accident, or a terrorist induced accident it will only result in half of Prestwick being obliterated. Would'nt want that to happen in England would we. Compensation, if any, for the Scots killed would be cheaper too.
I wonder if Russia and the Chinese are now shipping weapons directly to Hezbolla via Iran and Syria. After all why not?
On Afganistan I wonder when the Ruskies will ship their version of the stinger missile to the insurgents so they can shoot down American and British helicopters just like the US did when the Ruskies tried to occupy Afganistan Things could get interesting-must profit by buying more oil stocks.

If we were independent, we could stop this outrage. But no, we choose to let Scotland be implicated in an extremely misguided and dangerous US foreign policy.

I really do despair of my fellow Scots. When will you ever learn that it is normal, sensible and obvious that we should be in control of our own destiny. It works for 190 other countries around the world, so why oh why do we shy away from it?

John,

Yet another typical example of current US policy. Hypocrisy at it’s best, miss-information and later falsities. Last I heard the US position was, it's not our war, its between them and it's against terror so let them continue. Because as long as that war makes the news, less to nothing is heard about our troops being killed and injured in Iraq, not to mention all the Iraq civilians. We have elections coming up in Nov. Next we get caught sneaking weapons over to Israel, to provide support for a continued war which seems to be killing everyone except the Hezbollah. However critizing other countries that are sympathetic to not provide support. Now all of a sudden since we can't covertly send as many weapons over there, the PM and President are pushing for a ceasefire. Then putting a multinational peace force In the middle of a Sovereign country (occupation force). It's like Iraq all over again. Please remmember to go out and vote show the politiical leader you don't like what they are doing by voting all incumbents out of office. Give someone new a chance to work for the people instead of greedy billfolds.

RICESKI,

In view of the relationship of Bush and Blair I am most sure there was a quiet phone call or conversation that gave official approval of the flights. After all if Hezbollah [ whom I believe is an Iranian proxy army] wins over Israel, The EU is just a few barrel's of oil away from being taken down. I am amazed you do not see the farther falling domino in this war in Lebanon. After all how many British refugees are in Lebanon? NONE - now how many Lebanese refugees in Britain? MANY.
As an American I think you know Bush and Blair are considered the only 1-2 punch from Western Countries that can stop the Islamics from nuking us all back to the stone age and beyond.
