Zimbabwe opposition strike fails

A NATIONWIDE strike in Zimbabwe faltered as riot police and soldiers took to the streets of Harare and many people reported to the few jobs left in the ravaged nation.
Opposition leaders have had difficulty harnessing popular anger against President Robert Mugabe and forcing the release of long-delayed presidential election results.
