NASA's Phoenix lander spacecraft has for the first time identified water in a sample of soil collected from the surface of Mars.
Scientists will now begin studying the sample to see whether the planet was ever, or is, habitable. The craft previously had problems transferring samples from its robotic arm to the onboard lab for analysis.

This is the first time Martian water has been touched and tasted, William Boynton, lead scientist, said yesterday in Tucson, Arizona.

He added: "We're looking to understand the history of the ice, by trying to figure out if this ice has ever melted, and through melting has created a liquid environment that modifies soil. We're just getting the data back.

"Through this we also hope to resolve questions (such as] is this a habitable zone on Mars, meaning that we have periodic liquid water, materials that are the basic ingredients for life forms?"

The scientists said they had yet to find organic materials in the sample and stressed that it would take three to four weeks for the data to be analysed.

So who's the brave soil riding around in the lab that will do the "tasted" part. Unless the robot was fitted w/taste buds?

Water on Mars means life on Mars.
I wonder what those church documents say?
You know as well as I do that the church has already looked ahead and come up with different theological explanations for those difficult moments that will be delivered by science.
Just as they were wrong about the Earth being the middle of the universe, thus proving their god to be a liar, they will spin some story to explain life on Mars.

#4 Media 1: Calm yourself dear boy. Why so down on a story about Mars?
As the great philosopher Ali G might have said, "Is it because it is red?"

YOUR god may be a liar...

I'm just fine with mine... and even if they DO find life on mars (which I think they will eventually)... my god and I dont have a problem with it....

btw, as my mother put it years ago... for my sake, I hope I (and MY god are right)...

if YOU are right about god, I'm most likely doomed (or headed for oblivion when my EEG goes flat)...

if MY god is right, we will have the opportunity to have these discussions throughout all time and eternity... (of course that may be hell for you.... so maybe not.... lol)
