ZIMBABWE president Robert Mugabe yesterday handed the country's only Olympic medallist in Beijing a $100,000 cash reward for her performance at the games.
US-based swimmer Kirsty Coventry smashed the world record to win gold in the women's 200 metres backstroke. She also captured three silver medals.

Given the rate of exchange in Zimbabwe, did she have to hire a fleet of trucks to take the money home?

Mugabe gave not one red cent. It was probably aid monies given by gullible westerners concerned at the plight of the poor folk of Zimbabwe. That or money extorted from others, or confiscated.
