THE Iranian president last night said "a few bullying powers" were trying to ruin his country's "peaceful nuclear activities".
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad also told the UN General Assembly that the "American empire" was "reaching the end of its road" and Iran's nuclear programme was opposed only by a minority of nations.

He used his high-profile speech at the world body's annual meeting in New York to denounce Israel, saying "the Zionist regime is on a definite slope to collapse, and there is no way for it to get out of the cesspool created by itself and its supporters". Mr Ahmadinejad has previously been criticised for saying he wanted to wipe Israel off the map.

Just hours after US President George Bush accused Iran of sponsoring terrorism from the same stage, Mr Ahmadinejad attacked the US and Nato.

He said they acted as aggressors in Iraq and Afghanistan, and started wars "in order to win votes in elections".

During Mr Bush's speech earlier, Mr Ahmadinejad turned to Iranian foreign minister Manouchehr Mottaki and gave a thumbs down.

Ahmaghinejad (= Genetically Stupid in Farsi)will get his just desserts, hopefully sooner, rather than later. His demise would be a boon for the Iranian people, never mind those in the west who would applaud his passing.

#3 Is that the best you can do Oh! gifted one? The usual "lickspittle...dross"Oh!terrorist sympathizer. Quite right all empires eventually go down the tubes;as do all dictatorships.YOU seem to forget the British Empire is going down quicker than anywhere else at present,or has that escaped you?
All the countries that the UK exploited and subjugated is coming home to roost at last!
Me look at history books, which ones, all those written by YOUR leftie mates (not mine squire)?

Carolyn 1.. I did not see him bathed in an aura, I did not see him mesmerizing the audience. He forgot to mention that he is funding and training Hezbollah, and Hamas, funding and training insurgents into Iraq and now Afghanistan, and that he is training "hit squads" to assassinate political figures and American troops in Iraq. He is also now sending roadside bombs into Afghanistan.
He left out that inflation in Iran is now almost 30%; which, by the way, the Mullahs blame him. He just replaced his finance minister.
All the appeasing, and all the apologizing for this sub human "loser" from the rest of the GugaIIs, isn't going to change those facts.

The American Empire ended at 9/11 when the Bushco gang took it over.

They march from one invasion to another, stealing money as they go, while their country goes down the tubes and the rest of the world moves on.

From the National Public Radio interview:
It should be a comedy routine for SNL-

Ahmadinejad: I, in fact, believe that elections in Iran are among the freest in the world. There's at least 100 times more freedom in Iran than there is in the United States.

NPR: Why don't you trust people to vote for everybody?

Ahmadinejad: We trust people! Elections are free in Iran!

NPR: After the candidate rolls are removed.

Ahmadinejad: It's the restrictions here that exist — we have a law in Iran. According to the law, whoever possesses qualifications to become a candidate can run — for example for the presidential elections.

A clear example of the confidence we place in the people is I, myself. I didn't belong to any party. I taught at the university.

NPR: And if your supreme leader didn't want you to run, you would not run.

Ahmadinejad: No, not at all. There were seven other candidates…

NPR: Permitted.

Ahmadinejad: Eight candidates —

NPR: Who were permitted. In legislative elections, thousands were disqualified.

Ahmadinejad: From many different groups and parties. Even independents....

Good Morning Lynne!
So the Star of Iran had no aura of a halo!!

The tragedy is, that this guy, no matter how he managed to claw to power, does have a lot of power. He could use the influence to build Iran into a world class economy but he put the economy into the ground.

Ahmadinejad could have a world leadership recognition and bring stability to a region, and go down in history books for a century as the guy who stabilized and brought peace and prosperity to the region, but instead he chooses to do as much harm as possible to any peace effort.

He's a thug. And history will record him as a thug.

It's the Iranian people who are suffering the consequences, not the thug.

#4 Druginhead.

Talking of terrorist sympathisers, you should know, with your support for a gangster government that terrorises the Tibetan and Uighur people.

However, I am not a terrorist sympathiser. I do not support anyone that indulges in terrorism, be it the Taliban, the current American administration, the Israeli government, your gangster government or anyone else that believes they have the right to impose their views or way of life on other people by way of force.

Time you got back to your job of boot licking in China.

You really should get out more, and then you would realize how washed you are. I know many Iranian immigrants here in the US that are quite happy to live the life they choose. They are an asset to the community and are quite typical "american" families.

"Most Iranians outside Iran are agents of UK and USA and Israel. Death to enemies of Iran."

Really? Your normal agent, spy, operator, whatever, is usually IN the place they're spying on. If an Iranian is living in, say, Boise, Idaho, and he's one of the 'agents' you're talking about, what's he going to be doing in the way of agenting? No, I think that you'll find that your more modern, up-to-date, sophisticated countries post their agents in the country of interest, so please explain this "agent of..." business. It doesn't make any sense.

Here's one of those "east is east and the west is west," deals: "Death to enemies of Iran."

Death to them?!?!?! We have disputes with other countries but we don't take to the streets shouting, "Death to Chile! The Avocado War has begun!!" Because those Chilean AvoBandits have been dumping tons of avocados on the US market making life tough for our own Avocado wranglers.

Nonetheless, even though many think that the criminal intransigence of the Chilean guacamole gangsters is all the provocation we need to send a fleet of the "Grey Diplomats," down there to have a little "Meet the Aircraft Carriers!" fiesta a few miles offshore, we refrain, preferring to settle our differences with a Chili Cookoff.

But if that doesn't work we could try to egg Chile on into a military quagmire with its neighbor, Bolivia, by saying that the Bolivian ambassador told Sarah Palin, in a private conversation, that the reason Chile is such a long skinny country is because, "The country and the people of Chile are shaped like worms!" Get us a nice little Latino on Latino banging going on. Chile will NEVER tolerate the Bolivian insults, saying something along the lines of, "Simon Bolivar? Isn't he the one who liked boys?" A clear escalation of taunting that will surely end in gunfire and perhaps even some bloodshed if the coke the soldiers on both sides are scarfing up runs out and their hands stop shaki

g that will surely end in gunfire and perhaps even some bloodshed if the coke the soldiers on both sides are scarfing up runs out and their hands stop shaking long enough to aim.

Now if we can pull that off, we just might see a little of those "Death To......" things done up with a little salsa. In the meantime, if you want to persuade people to throw in with you, you might want to dial down the, "Death to...." chants. You see, those people that you are shouting "death to..." might take you seriously, and having been threatened with death (none of your silly UN resolutions either! Just "Death",) may take steps to see that your chants remain nothing but the blowviating of bigmouths talking big talk, never go past that stage.

"Did I hear an indignant American voice saying to the world, you must respect the territorial integrity of a sovereign nation????????"

No you didn't and you may wait til hell freezes over before you do. In your silly rant you failed to mention that there was a war going on at the time. Less than a year before the USS Stark was attacked in the Gulf by an Iraqi jet that fired two exocet missiles at the Stark, crippling the ship and killing dozens of sailors.

The pilot of the airbus flew directly at the Vincennes. Most egregious, the Airbus captain turned of his IFF. Turning off your IFF is a clear provocation. The Vincennes tried repeatedly to contact the unidentified airplane approaching their battle group. It wasn't murder, you silly child, and all the sanctimonious ranting isn't going to change that. Oh, by the way, thank you for the sermon about international morality. Very helpful. The responsible party was the captain of the Airbus or more likely a superior who tasked him to approach the fleet to test US responses to incursions. It was a tragedy but it wasn't murder.

A Jumbo jet full of aviation spirit is not a threat? Then the pictures we saw of 9/11 and the twin towers was made in Hollywood, was it? Promise me you WILL buck up.

"No rant just facts. You failed to notice that the American vessel was violating Iranian territorial waters and the aircraft was flying over Iranian airspace!"

A bomber, fighter, airbus, they are all just blips on the radar screen. The airbus flew straight at the Vincennes and turned off its IFF squaker. For those that don't know all large planes and warplanes have a device called IFF (identification friend foe). They are supposed to have them on all the time. The airbus captain, who knows why, turned its IFF off.

Therefore the captain of the ship was left with the decision to shoot the plane down or to let it approach close enough to get inside the range of an Exocet anti-ship missile. The kind that nailed the Stark a few months before. The captain made the appropriate response and the responsible party was the captain of the airbus or whoever it was that ordered the airbus captain to turn off his IFF. As far as being in Iranian airspace, so what? The US imports very little oil through the gulf. We were there to protect Europe's oil supply coming through the Straits of Hormuz. You're welcome, ingrate.
