Guantanamo case ruling

IN A rebuke to the Bush administration, a federal judge in the United States yesterday ordered the release in the US of 17 Chinese Muslims from the US military prison at Guantanamo Bay.
District judge Ricardo Urbina made the ruling at a hearing to consider appeals by members of the Uighur ethnic group, who are seeking release and asking to come to the US.

The judge said there was no evidence the detainees, who have been held at Guantanamo for nearly seven years, were a security risk, and that the US constitution prohibited indefinite detention without cause.

Other news sources have reported that the judge has ordered them to be released "into" the US, hence my comment @ 1. They have been cleared to leave gitmo since 2004, but no country will take them for fear of upsetting China.

When the bombing started they moved to Pakistan,why? These articles are CHINESE muslims.They are trying to cecede Xinjiang from China.Xinjiang has never been anything else other than Chinese.
No doubt at all they would be interrogated,and jailed,even executed were they to return to China. In the west however they, like other 'activists' will milk the gullible westerners by telling them sad tales etc, etc. Wake up you dozy individuals, they are dyed in the wool Muslim Extremists, hell bent like the rest of their ilk on mayhem in the name of Allah!

Doesn't change the fact that other countries don't want them for fear of political ramifications from China. US policy does not allow for extradition to countries where the outcome would be torture/death.
I say drop them off where they found them and let them figure it out.

Perhaps it has escaped your miniscule brain that these Uighurs were probably in Afghanistan to escape the Chinese gangster government's pogrom of the Uighurs in Xinjiang.

You are correct on one point though, they would undoubtedly be arrested and executed if they were returned to China, even if they have done nothing wrong.

One point puzzles me though, why do you, as a wannabee Chinese, have such a down on the Uighurs? What harm have they ever done to you?

#8 Cackling Insanity!They were in a camp in Afghanistan.Not a refugee camp,oh!nano-brained one.Perhaps you should read other than the hootsmon for your information. They were and still are terrorists in transit. As for their release? That is on hold, as it should be. Xinjiang has never been anythying else other than Chinese. Has it never entered your thick head, that the muslims (including the predominantly Uighur in Xinjiang)the world over,practice colonization by stealth? Look at Europe at the moment.They do not integrate they dominate.The Chinese are reviled for wanting UNITY among the 56 nationalities.They have never wanted anything else. Remember the western Allies and the Opium Wars? When the western nations did what they do so well.They dominated and exploited China outrageously.It is good to see that the trade shoe is now on the other foot and western nations are awash with drugs.What goes around comes around.
When the muslims want to annex parts of Scotland (and they will,Sharia law is only the first step)as theirs it will be interesting to see the gutless UK government's response.
