POLICE said an eight-year-old girl in Ecuador is believed to be a Panamanian kidnap victim taken from her home as a baby in 2003.
Ecuadorian Maria del Carmen Medina is suspected of kidnapping the girl when she was 18 months old and registering the child as her own daughter. Medina later moved to Spain and left the girl with her sister.

She was found in the coastal city of Guayaquil in the care of a neighbour of the sister following a tip-off.
