INGRID Betancourt, 46, the former Columbian presidential candidate held captive by the country's Farc rebels for six and a half years, was yesterday named winner of Italy's Women's World Awards 2008.
She said: "I see this prize as a call for me to continue to fight for the freedom of all people who are being suppressed against their will."
