Amazon protest leader claims asylum in Peru

Peru: A PERUVIAN Indian leader charged with sedition for heading protests against Amazon development has sought refuge in Nicaragua's embassy in Lima and is seeking asylum.
Alberto Pizango led protests that erupted in violence last Friday, leaving dozens dead, including 23 police officers.

France: A Frenchwoman accused of killing three of her own babies and hiding two of them in the freezer of her home in South Korea is to go on trial.
