Alligator looks for dinner in kitchen

A FLORIDA woman walked into her kitchen to find an 8ft alligator on the prowl.
Sandra Frosti, 69, said the reptile must have pushed through the screen door on the back porch at her home in Oldsmar, north of Tampa. It was removed by a trapper.

It also went through an open sliding glass door to get into the kitchen. This is not the first time is has happened in Florida, and I am sure it won't be the last. Many of us live in communities with lakes; and even man-made lakes, they manage to go through the pipes.
A lot of times they make onto the pavement of parking lots and under cars.
When I first moved down here, I watched someone's grandchildren, take the little alligators they bought and throw them into the lakes, because they can't take them home back north. Well, from little alligators, big ones grow!! Trappers don't remove them unless they are over 4 feet.. why that length I do not know, considering, the alligator doesn't know the difference between an adult or child!!

Hi Lynne,
If the alligator was in a Texas kitchen he would have been shot and grilled, (tastes like chicken) and the skin made into boots.

Alligators living on and under the doorstep are one reason I don't even consider moving to Florida.

Hi Carolyn1..believe it or not, it's against the law to kill alligaters unless you hav a permit and it's in season.!!
I'm here since 1992..15 years..we have alligators floating by the lake outside my front door every once in a while..but they have never come ashore.
I even go there to feed the fish and the birds. Nothing to be afraid of..the last time this happened and it made the news was something like 5 years ago. It was on someone's screened porch, and the husband was fined for killing the alligator!! $500.00.
You have to laugh, when you think what must be going on these Legislatures minds!! I wouldn't go north again for anything..I am through with snow!!

Now, we read there are very talented monkeys in Lakeland, Fl. They managed to escape off their island by swimming across their pond!!
