AUSTRIA'S second-largest city of Graz has ordered public transport commuters to keep their mobile phones on silent mode.
"I know I insulted the mobile phone goddess," Mayor Siegfried Nagl said. "People need to know they have no right to be on the phone constantly."

Surely he means that people have no NEED to be on the phone constantly? Or is this another little Austrian trying to tell people what they can and can't do?

its good to see that "manners" are alive and well in the heart of the EU as well....

cell phones provide a double edged sword...

20 years ago, if you were lost or something, you could speak a question and hope someone would answer...

it was called "being friendly"...

today you hear a question you have to look to make sure the person isnt blabbing on their "blue-tooth"... "making eye contact" isnt even enough as too often the "blue toothers" are staring off vacantly into the space you may be occupying...

Bloody fed up of mobile phone idiots who are afraid no one will speak to them - the poor demented souls.
