A FLOOD warning has been issued for Edinburgh and Lothian rivers, with up to 30mm of rain due to fall in just three hours this afternoon.
Skies opened over central Edinburgh at around 2.45pm. The Met Office and SEPA have warned that heavy rains will continue until at least 11pm tonight, with hail and thunder also possible.

Forecaster John Hammond said: "We're expecting 15 to 20 mm of rain in three hours - we could see localised totals of up to 30mm but those will be mostly inland. Today will probably be the wettest day of the week. We'll see some drier weather tomorrow, a better day with some sunshine. We might get a light shower but overall feeling pretty warm tomorrow, with temperatures up to 17 degrees."
