THE sister-in-law of comedienne Ruby Wax was killed when she was hit by a train, it was revealed yesterday.
Julia Canning, 55, was walking her dogs alongside a country railway line near her home in the village of Little Bedwyn, near Hungerford, Berkshire.

British Transport Police (BTP) are investigating what they say was a tragic accident on 6 May when Mrs Canning was struck by the 5.08pm Newbury to Bedwyn train which was using the high-speed intercity line.

A BTP spokesman said: "A file will be prepared for the coroner."

Mrs Canning's brother is the film producer Ed Bye, who is married to Ruby Wax.

Mrs Canning was married to the Hon Spencer Canning, the eldest son of the 5th Baron Garvagh. The couple had three children, Cordelia, 24, Florence, 20, and Stratford, 19.
