SPARTANS moved to within a point of Premier Division leaders Dalbeattie Star after they won 3-1 away to reigning champions Whitehill Welfare.
Ross Johnston gave Whitehill the lead before Struan Preston equalised, then second-half goals from Gavin Malin and David Etale sealed all three points for Spartans.

Dalbeattie Star fell behind to a Daniel McAleavy against Lothian Thistle before Gary McMinn equalised in a 1-1 draw.

Edinburgh University defeated Edinburgh City 3-0 with goals from Jamie Redman, Ruaraidh Scott and Jack Beesley, while Scott Borthwick notched five goals for Easthouses Lily as they beat Preston Athletic 7-2. Ryan Curran and John Hunter also scored.

Bottom club Peebles won their first game of the season, beating Selkirk 2-1 thanks to goals from Darren Thomson and Craig Dilworth.
