SOCIAL workers in the criminal justice service have significantly improved performance, according to the city council.
People on probation are being seen more quickly, and 97 per cent of reports requested by the courts are submitted on time.

Councillor Paul Edie, convener for health, social care and housing, said: "Results show that more people on probation in Edinburgh are being seen more quickly. This part of the justice system works best when the sentence is carried out as quickly as possible."
