THE Mills-McCartney divorce case may have been heard in private but it was concluded very publicly yesterday when Heather Mills insisted on having the last word as she launched an astonishing rant on the steps of the court.
Following her £24.3 million divorce ruling, she railed against Sir Paul, her ex-husband, his lawyer, Fiona Shackleton, against Mr Justice Bennett and the entire British court system.

In a rambling statement, resembling her appearance on the GMTV
sofa in October, when she compared herself to Princess Diana, Ms Mills accused the former Beatle of hiding the full extent of his earnings.

"I'm so glad it's over," she said. "It was an incredible result in the end, to secure my and Beatrice's future, as that of all the charities that I obviously plan on helping and making a difference with, because you know it's been my life for 20 years."

But she hit out at the £35,000 a year their four-year-old daughter would receive.

"Beatrice only gets £35,000 a year – so obviously she's meant to travel B class while her father travels A class," she complained.

Describing herself as "a campaigning girl", Ms Mills urged anyone seeking a divorce to represent themselves and "save a fortune".

She also had harsh words for McCartney's lawyer, Fiona Shackleton, who represented Prince Charles in his divorce from Princess Diana: "Fiona Shackleton has very sadly handled this in the worst manner you could ever, ever imagine.

"She has called me many, many names before even meeting me when I was in a wheelchair," said Miss Mills, whose left leg was amputated below the knee after a 1993 motorcycle accident.

She insisted her parting from her own lawyers, Mishcon de Reya, had been amicable but said the firm wanted to charge her an extra £600,000 in fees, "which could easily go to charity".

In contrast, Sir Paul chose to leave without comment, looking strained as he gave a brief wave to onlookers.

Yesterday's impromptu press conference on the steps of the Royal Courts of Justice was the latest turn in what is widely seen as the most acrimonious high-profile divorce of recent times.

The warring couple spent six days in court last month in a battle to decide Ms Mills's slice of the former Beatle's purported £825 million fortune.

As their relationship disintegrated the couple insisted their parting two years ago was "amicable" and said "both of us still care about each other very much".

But the split has grown fractious since McCartney filed for divorce alleging his wife's "unreasonable behaviour".

Despite receiving less than a fifth of what she had demanded, Ms Mills said she would not be appealing the award, as it was "not worth it". But she expressed frustration at the judge's acceptance of Sir Paul's worth as £400 million. She said: "Everybody knows he's been worth £800 million for the past 15 years."

And she confirmed she would appeal against publication of the judgment on the grounds that it contained many personal details about her daughter.

Yesterday, legal experts said the judgment was in Sir Paul's favour. Alan Kaufman, Finers Stephens Innocent's family law specialist, said: "

The judge did a good job. But it's a massive sum after just four years of marriage. It's a clever judgment. Both come out, if not smiling, then satisfied."

As she played to the media circus she has so often criticised, the former Lady McCartney finished her "statement" by expressing her hopes the press would now stop talking about "our boring divorce".

MACCA MATHS

THE key numbers associated with yesterday's McCartney divorce settlement:

• £400 million – the total value of Sir Paul McCartney's assets, according to the judge, Mr Justice Bennett.

• £800 million – what "everybody knows" Sir Paul is really worth – according to Heather Mills.

• £125 million – the figure Miss Mills originally sought.

• £15.8 million – what Sir Paul proposed she should get instead.

• £24.3 million – Miss Mills's total settlement as decided by the judge.

• £16.5 million – a lump sum figure within the overall settlement.

• £7.8 million – assets such as properties included in the settlement.

• Less than four – years the marriage lasted before separation (from 11 June, 2002, until April, 2006).

• £600,000 – what Heather Mills said she saved by representing herself in court.

Personally I'd be pretty happy with 24 mill. 35 grand a year for a child is pretty hefty in my opinion. It's not like her dad isn't going to give her the odd ticky now and again. How much travelling does she do for God's sake?

Tips for Beatrice:

1: put less salad cream on yer tatties and corned beef
2. eat low cost seasonal vegetables
3. Eat more boiling beef less sirloin
4. Stop Heather giving 24.5 mill to charity - she's obviously so generous
5. move to Vietnam - school uniforms cost a pound
6. Go live with yer father as soon as
7. make your own mayonnaise

Anyone else got any tips on how to survive on 35k when 3 years old?

Leopards never change their spots and this Heather is no different.

Greedy and attention seeking trying to be somebody she clearly is not!

Sad for beatrice having a mother like her and can only imagine in years to come she will be abandoned by Beatrice and prefer her father.

there should be something in Divorce papers that Heather is accountable for some of the money. I.e if she remarries she forfeits part of it. She can perfectly well earn a living! She's mad a good one so far playing on sympathy vote!

Perhaps she can go back to where she came from - the streets!!

Charities beware of her and all men with money!! Government Health warning has been issued against her!!

It was a bravura performance. The news presenter said it was "an extraordinary outburst" I wouldn't wish her on our friends in Glasgow but she was what they call a "stair heed randy" extraordinaire.

Good news. Now McCartney can get the Beatles songs onto iTunes - there was a rumour of a $400m deal, but he was never going to be dumb enough to sign anything whilst the shark was still circling.

Also, is it just me or does anyone else get Harry Enfield "Smashy & Nicey" flashbacks whenever she opens her gub? "Well, obviously, blah, lodda work for chariddee"

And which charities, exactly, does she help, and how do they think she helps their cause? Does she do sponsored rants or something?

Snap.

This woman has no class, and comes over as (as you say) a Gold Digger. She is lower than the prostitute in my opinion because she at least has"earned " her bread by honest endeavour.
This woman deserves to be humilitated in public,(but she is probably too thick skinned to care).
What on earth Mac saw in her I cannot imagine,it must have been her physical appearance, because she could not even begin to fill the late Linda McCartneys boots.
She will never never be accepted by anybody as anything other than a divorce settlement with no class. The only people interested in her are people like herself, other Money grabbers.I hope someone takes every penny off her.I detest this woman.

If you wanna meet some genuine girls, come back to your roots, get yerself a pint in The Phil', The Big House, The Grapes or The Midland - in no time you'll be chatting away to a gorgeous babe - and it'll only cost you a couple of Babycham & Colas.....

54

Harumph,

Harumphland 18/03/2008 09:53:55
I completely agree with Beatrice getting some kind of "settlement" - she is his daughter after all, but Heather isn't entitled to any of the rest of the "fortune" unless she helped make it. If she had supported Paul for any number of years, cooked, cleaned, looked after the children or held down her own job while he didn't earn, then ok, give her some money to reward her for her loyalty and recompense her time, but really, this is ridiculous. And did she fight, tooth and nail for this money just so she could give it to charity? I think not! And why does she need security? If she'd kept her head down and gone about this whole business with a bit of dignity she wouldn't be so hated and "need" security.
Makes me mad!!

She is right about one thing, there is no way he's only worth £400M *everybody* has been saying over £800M for years. In the end it costs him nothing at all. He is so rich he can never spend all the money he has and when he dies 40% will go to the government - and they never had to do any of the things Heather had to ;)

71 Morbo. You got it right there. McCartney isn't, and hardly ever was, the prettiest guy on the market. He should have seen this coming years ago. And whilst I agree that she is a gold-digger, this is what society is nowadays and it was obvious she would get a large slice of the action. I've been unable to work for some time now and have to make do with just £5,000 a year, and the thought of the sort of money they are talking about is mind-boggling. But McCartney won't take long to make that amount back up again by doing virtually nothing. Come to think of it, he did virtually nothing to gain those millions in the first place. I just wonder how he would have progressed if he were in his teens now and tried to make it via the 'Fix Factor.'

this hound should not have got a brass rasso from Sir Paul, and yes I agree with another Person who commented that Camilla is the Best and always was, It is good to see prince Charles Happy And Sir Paul will be happy as well.
this lady can always go door to door for charity if that is her way in life, we have had two people at the door over two nights Poppering for charity both different charities but the same speel from both people. Gave them nothing they are just pests. Chin up Sir Paul.

PJ 90 , Good God ! Did she say that ? I was not aware of it . I do beg your pardon . Well, she certainly does the species no favours with her greedy attitude . The child was her passport to a divorce settlement. All neatly planned and manipulated - can you blame some men for just hating women ? Sir Paul has learned a hard lesson not from the payment but the embarrassment she caused him and the family . The settlement will be recovered and should have been budgeted for
as risk management . Some people criticise Sir Paul for not entering into a pre nupt but that is not the point . When you care about someone and are honest in your intent you don't expect this sort of none sense . Sad but we live and learn especially everytime she opens her mouth !!

I can thoroughly recommend reading the entire judgement, all 58 pages (no, seriously). The judge's remarks on her evidence and general trustworthiness are worth their weight in gold, as indeed is her assertion that she "needs" £499,000 every year to go on holiday.

Now, what would be genuinely, magnificently funny is if HMRC launched a tax investigation. Basically, her case in court was predicated on the suggestion that she was successful and financially independent before meeting McCartney, and that marrying him knackered her career & earning potential. The judge notes that he asked her for proof of her earnings, her bank statements or her property ownership prior to meeting McCartney and she produces absolutely nothing to back up her pitch. She then says, effectively, that she was earning £2m a year but giving 90% of it to charity; needless to say none of the charities quoted were able to find the money either.

So, I reckon if everyone who reckons she's a money-grabbing muppet chips in a tenner, we could hire a forensic accountant to prove that she's perjured herself on a massive scale and hence get her fined, say, £24.5m :-)

Oh, and part of the settlement is predicated on her assertion that she needs to be able to continue to give £100k a year to charity because she's such a saint. What the judge should have done is ordered McCartney to pick a charity and donate (say) £3m as a one-off; either that or insist that Mills provides receipts to the court every year from now on to prove that this wasn't just a big lie too.

Alternatively, HMRC could just check to see how much tax she's paid in the last ten years (it's not that difficult; I've worked there) and ask her to cough up if it doesn't look like 40% of £2m a year.

Finally, it's also worth reading McCartney's views on personal security. Her view is basically that she needs an SAS platoon around her 24 hours a day; his is that the people who work on or around his estate are generally pretty good at no

Oops - ran out of space. Last post finishes "noticing anything out of the ordinary".

As I say, read the entire judgement and any questions in your mind as to why she might not have wanted it published will be well and truly laid to rest :-)

Final point - the suggestion that publication endangers her child are just as much mince as the rest of her evidence.

May I remind you all that Paul McCartey is not a Knight. He was only granted an O.B.E. honor. Which means Officer of British Empire. You are referring to Paul Mccartney as "Sir", when there is no such respect due to him as a composer/ musician/ entertainer.

the queen gives these honors out like candy, and this is because it's only candy.

I just can't imagine what my kids would do if they only had £35,000 a year and a mum with 24 million in the bank.

Poor little mite. Maybe we should have a whip round for her.

This is gold digging at its most repugnant, and she lied in court to get it.

Out There Somewere,

Mills AKA FREELOADER. 18/03/2008 19:40:01
See what happens when you become a freeloader.Obviously
paul should have done his homework before having the freeloader leech latching onto him.
Im sure he will think twice next time.
It must be tough for the child only getting 35,000 pounds a year, maybe if her freeloader mother can pay the difference from her 24 million plus the child won't have to travel B Class.
I have no doubt the mills would have the child travel second class just to try and embarrass paul. But no doubt she would be laugh at as the greedy parasite that she really is.

THE LAST WORD! I THINK NOT. HOW COULD SUCH A SEEMINGLY NICE WOMAN TURN OUT LIKE THIS? THIS COULD DEFINITELY BE A CASE OF DIANAISM. FOR PAUL IT WILL BE A LIFELONG DISASTER, AS SHE WILL ALWAYS BE THE MOTHER OF HIS CHILD!

It will be interesting to see how much of this money will be left by the time Beatrice reaches her majority. Ok, she will inherit a heap from her father but, will any of this divorce settlement remain or will it only exist on old scraps of paper as 'Charity donations'

How come the explicit libel "adulterous auld hoor" can be tossed at Camilla in post #96, while my extremely amusing double entendre at #97 was censored by the admin?

What is wrong with asking sir Paul if he will ever go down on one knee again?

You would think he'd think twice or get a pre-nup.

I should'nt feel too sorry for either of these pampered pooches ! They are fighting over obscene amounts of money that neither should be allowed to own . Too much airtime has allready been given to the pair . The press should be asking why people like Mccartney have such a huge fortune in a country where more and more people are earning minimum wage or less !

No one here is qualified to determine what Heather should receive as a settlement figure...

Most of you arsehats would, ahem, give up a leg to be in her shoe, so to speak. Quit your grousing.

If I was in Heather's shoe, I'd go after someone younger. That way the leopard that can't change her spots, could just become a cougar...

'sir' paul bent down on one knee
he begged 'heather, please marry me'
she, i regress that she gave it her 'best'
then...'sorry love, the moneys for me'

the public cried, 'god, what a brood'
turned all of them to a foul mood
but the wee little babe, only good thing they made
got money she 'needs' for her food?

the baby shoulda gone to the man
for the woman he needed a plan
on an island alone, abandon the crone
to hop on her leg in the sand

then fly by to drop her the lot
of the 'charity' others seemingly got
in a small little bag, on what food she could gag
returning her 'generous' pot

for no one is fooled by the greed
of millionaires saying they NEED
more money to live, more money to give
when in fact its their own face they feed

cheers

"FOR PAUL IT WILL BE A LIFELONG DISASTER, AS SHE WILL ALWAYS BE THE MOTHER OF HIS CHILD!"
I couldn't agree with 103 more. No matter how much fame or fortune you possess, that blood connection will always pull on you. Then again a person Paul's age should probably be shooting blanks by this time anyway. I'm sure he could get the gentlest vasectomy on the planet. I had my last child at age 37 and am just barely up to the challenge.

What the hell is she moaning about? oh beatrice only gets £35000 a year? what is the problem with that? My family earns £12,000 a year. And 4 people have to survive on that. I'm sure that if beatrice is with paul he won't expect her to buy all of her own things and when she's with heather she won't either.

Heather Mills is a Whiny little bi*ch!
