A THAI student was punched and kicked by two teenage girls and a boy who stole her handbag.
The 25-year-old woman had been walking along Elm Row at about 2.40am on Friday when the youths approached her.

The teenagers pulled her to the ground, punched and kicked her body, then made off with her handbag. Although the victim was not seriously injured in the attack, she was left terrified by her ordeal.

Detectives are studying CCTV footage from the area in a bid to identify the suspects.

The two girls are both described as white, 16 years old, 5ft 4in, slim build with blonde hair.

The boy was also about 16 years old, 5ft 6ins, and of slim build. He had short dark hair.

A police spokeswoman said: "This was a terrifying experience for the woman involved, and we would urge anyone who may have witnessed the assault to get in touch as a matter of urgency."
