GLASGOW Airport was at the centre of a terror alert yesterday following the discovery of a suspicious package.
The alarm was raised shortly after 10am when the item was spotted in the main terminal. Police officers called to the scene removed the packet and took it away for examination. This eventually showed that the item was harmless.

Yesterday, a spokesman for Strathclyde Police said no one was evacuated during the incident. A 28-year-old man was last night helping detectives with their inquiries.

Well this goes some way to explaining the frosty reception I and my fellow returnees were treated to at the "UK border" about 1pm yesterday.
Now if we could just have a valid reason for the chaos that is the roadworks in the area of the Kingston Bridge, I'll be able to sleep better.

More good news. Apart from Westminster headlines everything seems to be a little more than tickety-boom!!
