ONE of Scotland's best-loved bands have a headline slot at a major festival revived for the Year of Homecoming.
Teenage Fanclub, who emerged from the Lanarkshire music scene more than 20 years ago, will top the bill at The Outsider at the end of June.

Another Scottish star, Sharleen Spiteri, has already confirmed her appearance at the event near Aviemore, which features music, comedy, cabaret, outdoor activities and debates.

Teenage Fanclub will be appearing alongside a host of Scottish acts, including Attic Lights, King Creosote and We Were Promised Jetpacks.

Award-winning folk stars Lau and Karine Polwart are also in the line-up, along with a new trio formed by Idlewild frontman Roddy Woomble.

Fred Macaulay, Shazia Mirza, Miles Jupp and Kevin Bridges are among the comedians confirmed for The Outsider.

The festival, held on the Rothiemurcus Estate, was shelved last year due to funding problems. This year it will last two days rather than the previous three.
