AIRLINE pilots landing in the Capital had laser beams shone in their faces.
Captains of two flights – working for British Airways and easyJet – were momentarily blinded within minutes of each other as they tried to land their aircraft earlier this month.
Police are now appealing for information regarding the incident and have so far concentrated inquiries on Livingston, believing the source of the beam was in West Lothian.
A spokesman said: "The beam was described as erratic, but it seemed to be deliberately shone at the aircraft.
"Inquiries have been made in the Livingston area, but so far have come back negative."
The incident happened on Sunday, September 7 and officers are keen to establish whether or not it was simply a prank.
The spokesman said: "Anyone with any information that can help us with our inquiries should get in touch."
Three months ago, an easyJet pilot landing in Edinburgh on a journey from Luton Airport was understood to have had his descent hampered as a bright green light was shone in his face.
