SCOTLAND'S only gay football team won their first piece of silverware yesterday.
Edinburgh-based HotScots FC beat their English rivals, London Falcons, 4-2 on penalties after a nailbiting second leg victory at Peffermill.

The Scots had lost the first leg 2-1 in London, but bounced back to dump their much-fancied opponents by the same score line.

Goals by Connor Simpson in the tenth minute and a strike by Nick Dickson just before half-time were scored either side of the Londoners' equaliser.

The game went to penalties, where HotScots' substitute goalkeeper JP Clarke was the hero, saving two spot-kicks and scoring one himself.

Team captain Kevin Rowe said: "We are absolutely delighted."
