THE Scottish Government is to waive the tuition fees for students studying at the new £15 million Aberdeen Dental School to help attract graduates to the new facility, it was revealed yesterday.
The decision, announced by Shona Robison, the public health minister, during a visit to the city, will save students £7,100 over the four years of the dental course.
A total of 15 students are due to begin studies at the dental school in October.
Ms Robison said:
"It is vitally important we make studying dentistry as attractive as possible to improve access to NHS dentistry. The funding is just one measure we are taking to do this."
