AN ELDERLY resident of an Aberdeen care home was being treated in hospital yesterday with a suspected case of the potentially deadly disease tuberculosis.
The patient, who has not been identified, is a resident at the Glamis Cottage Hostel, a care home run by Aberdeen City Council in Merkland Road.

A spokeswoman for NHS Grampian said: "

As a routine measure, a risk assessment has been carried out by NHS Grampian to identify anyone who should be offered screening for TB, as outlined in national guidance. Those for whom this is advisable are notified individually and screening arranged."
