Boxer's killer gives up appeal

A MAN jailed for life for shooting a former boxing champion in an Edinburgh bar has abandoned an appeal against his conviction.
A lawyer for Jamie Bain, 24, told the Court of Criminal Appeal that he had accepted advice that there was "no merit" in the appeal.
