A VOLUNTEER has been awarded honorary life membership of a charity she has worked with for more than three decades.
Pat Stewart from Currie has received the accolade from the Parkinson's Disease Society in recognition of her many years of voluntary support. She was a founding member of the Edinburgh branch and has worked hard over the years to raise awareness and funds.
The honorary life membership is given to volunteers who have devoted "exceptional amounts of time and energy" to the society. Patrick Mark, chairman of the Edinburgh branch, said: "Pat's experience, judgement, sensitivity and efficiency have been of immense help to everyone involved with the Edinburgh branch."
