THE number of suspended NHS Lothian workers has more than doubled in the last year, figures have shown.
There were 36 suspensions in the year up to March 31, with 19 resulting in disciplinary action.

This is a significant hike from 2007/08, when there were only 16 suspensions.

The majority of cases occurred in nursing and midwifery.
