POLICE and bird conservation experts seized more than 5,000 eggs in a raid on a Scottish home, it was revealed yesterday.
Officers from Lothian and Borders Police and Tayside Police, along with representatives from the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB), took the haul from a home in Torphichen, West Lothian.
A 57-year-old man is expected to appear in court in due course.
Experts fear the collection may include eggs laid by rare birds – stunting their ability to maintain population levels.
