A DRIVING instructor who was seen making a phone call while he was giving a lesson was among the motorists caught using hand-held mobile phones since tougher penalties for the offence were introduced last month.
He was one of 129 people pulled over in the Central Scotland area during the first month of the new laws. Police branded the behaviour of the instructor "irresponsible".

On February 27, the maximum fixed penalty fine doubled to £60, with drivers also facing three penalty points.

#1 Not as such, if he was instructing a learner driver. He is considered to be in charge of the vehicle.

That driving instructor should be charged under the mental health laws as there must be something wrong with them to do something so stupid!

This must be the most reckless and selfish act I've ever heard of. I can't believe that nobody was killed as a result. He was probably just showing off by instructing with one hand. He should never be allowed near a car again. Thank god the police were there to stop him and not wasting their time by boosting their fixed penalty figures.
