TO mark the tenth anniversary of devolution, both the BBC and STV ran debates with "key" Scottish politicians to discuss the future of Scotland. I didn't have very high expectations at first about the quality of the debates, but both, particularly the Big Debate on the BBC, turned out to be very good.
So I've begun thinking, wouldn't it be good if both the BBC and STV showed more debates like this? This would allow us to have an informed discussion about Scotland's future. Not only does it make good TV, but it gives the voters a chance, other than at election time, to see our politicians debate against each other, with a live audience able to put questions to them.

Who knows, if people knew where our politicians stood on issues, they might be more likely to get out and vote.

Will not happen until BBC is dismantled as they are still London centric when it comes to politics and sport.

A weekly Scottish version of Question Time would be very welcome.

I would hope, however, that unlike Campbell's performance last week the chairman would restrict his participation to being chairman and not join in the debate.

I would still support the continuance of the broadcasting to Scotland of the UK wide version which would still have to visit Scotland as at present.
