PASSING legislation is easy. Implementing it is the difficult part. Last week, the Scottish Parliament voted through a legal mandate on the Scottish Government to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 42 per cent by 2020. This is well above the 34 per cent target that a UK government panel of experts claimed was reasonable.
Today, the Scottish Government has announced one way it hopes to meet the 42 per cent requirement. It wants all of Scotland's 30,000 public-sector vehicles to be "low carbon" (ie, electric) by 2020, along with 95 per cent of each year's 200,000 new p...

Does the Scottish Government have any brain power at all within their ranks? They obviously do not think about what they are proposing when they make their announcements re public and private sector vehicles?
Firstly, have they determined where all the electricity will come from to power these electric cars - have they even calculated the amount of additional electrcity required?
Secondly, where exactly will the drivers of such cars be able to recharge their vehicle?
Thirdly, are they aware that it takes hours to recharge an electric car - it's not like popping into a petrol station for a few minutes. There will need to be acres of parking facilities at recharging stations - and no doubt some entertainment for drivers awaiting a recharge?

I know, let's pass legislation that we have not costed, do not even roughly understand, based on flawed science and the pressurings of crazed greenies and their not-so-crazed manipulators. Then let's hunt around for ways to justify it as and when the failings/lunacies are pointed out. That should keep us and our compliant media busy every now and then for a few years.

If the climate continues to cool, and the IPCC predictions continue to get contradicted by EVERY observation, then we'll find something else. Something is bound to turn up, and of course the public have such very short memories.

I couldn't have put it better myself #2 - El Franko. There always has to be a fear factor to be used by governments to manipulate us all!

Continue to cool?

Well the 21st century ain't looking cooler so far;

http://www.cru.uea.ac.uk/cru/data/temperature/hadcrut3gl.txt

Averaging the HADCRU anomolies over eight year periods results in the following;

1969-1976: - 0.057
1977-1984: + 0.046
1985-1992: + 0.123
1993-2000: + 0.269
2001-2008: + 0.428

When average temperatures go up, that's called warming.
